It gets cold down here in NC from time to time but the lakes rarely freeze over, and even when they do I'd be afraid to go walking on the ice.
I remember one year it got just cold enough for our pond to freeze over. I walked on the ice that day but I never got more than a few feet from the bank due to fear of it giving way. It was strong enough at the bank to support the weight on my four wheeler with me sitting on it though.
I enjoy fishing but I hate the cold with a passion. Best time of year imo is middle of the summer around 95F with 80%+ humidity.

Last time I saw snow in England was like, 6 years ago.
And if we DO get snow, it's not soft cold snow, it's hard sleet, where if a snowball's thrown at you, it's 95% likely to be a solid ball of ice[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
What's the matter David? Never taken a shortcut before?
