BF2142 worth getting into this late in the game?

i know if it's anything like BF2 i'm gonna get screwed because everybody is wayy ahead of me, but i'd like something to play other than CS:S cause it gets boring playing dust 2 12 times in a row lol... I love'd BF1942 and Vietnam and even played a little BF2 but dont want to go back to that, i love vehicles and such.

For sure! The first 10 or so unlocks come pretty quickly, so you can get yourself decently kitted up with a few hours of gameplay. Plus, there are a lot of knowledgeable and patient people on the TTP server that can help you out as you get in to the game. I'd say go for it.

it's so worth the ~$30 bucks for 2142 then the extra $5 for NS...you won't regret it!

totally! BF2 is fun and all, but I barely ever play it. 2142 has much more rapid unlocking, so you needn't worry too much about being so far behind everyone. And like was said, there's lots of us who will be very happy to help you along. Join a good squad, follow orders, support your teammates, and you will *very* quickly get those points. This server is fantastic for very rapidly rising through the ranks.

Don't worry about being a recruit when everyone else is a Brig General. You may get owned for a while, but once you get a good kit, you'll start kicking ass yourself. I never really found my niche until I got my beautiful, beautiful Ganz HMG. Once you find that favorite weapon, you're set.

With the improvements they've made to the default assault kit weapons, it'll be a lot easier to hold your own early on. The Krylov and SCAR can now stand up to all the Voss whores. You just need a few odds and ends to make those kits a little better. Squad up with some veterans and you'll be fine.

Speaking of which, I need to give the SCAR another chance now. I have always liked the Krylov, but the SCAR I never could stand. Maybe now it will be a different story.
