Team switchers
There's this player called Hutch1ns that switched for no reason than to get in a j10 and rape the opposing team.
He didn't switch to be with friends, he switched because the team he was on was constantly losing.
I play alot on TTP and I have friends that switch to join me to be in my squad. WIN OR LOSE
Hutch1ns play mentality is not TEAM based. He doesn't make squads to win the game he plays this game selfishly just to get high scores.
I see other players switch and or disconnect to wait to get on the WINNING team.
I like this community which represents TEAM play that's why I play on your servers and tell other players/clans that this server is the best bar none.
Before he switched he was jet whoring with Latinman but Latinman stayed on like a true teamplayer.
I know jet whoring is the fastest way to up anyones stats but TTP is about teamplay.
Selfish bastard.

Re: Team switchers
Thanks for the post GMG. While there are several threads about team switchers and some strong feelings about this subject, it is not an easy thing to police and as of now it is not an enforced "rule" on the servers and may never be.
Team switching is very subjective and it is understood that people will switch to play with friends.
This example would be one, however, that is the main cause of most people's angst.

Before this turns into flame war three about who switches and why I have two questions. How do you know what anyones motives are if/when they switch? How do you enforce preventing it?
If there were a rule against it that would mean if Himmyo switched to squad with you he would be breaking a rule, and deserve the consequences of doing so. How do you expect admins that are trying to play, run the server, and keep them free of non-teamplaying asshats to know who switches every time, and what the reason for the switch was?
My 2 cents is invite them to your squad, and help teach them to be a teamplayer. If they refuse to squad up, follow orders, or play as a team then we can kick their asses to the curb.
rant off

Re: Team switchers
First of all my friends switch to my team to be in my squad. We don't ever switch to just to jet whore. We play to win the game not to get the highest kills/score.
When I'm capping flags and some of my squad are in jets/helos I tell them where and what flags are to be bombed or strafed by choppers and other armor that is suppresing the rest of the team.
I know admining is alot of work especially when you want to play the game also. Enforcing it is nearly impossible.
Just calling him out and to let others know what is happening at TTP BF2.
If you could make this a sticky anyone can call out players who you know that switches to just be selfish and not be a TEAM player.
Again sorry for the trouble.

But you didn't answer my question. How do you, and how can admins, know for certain why people switch?
If I log on, and want to play with you, others might view that as me switching just to win. If I get disconnected, and come back on the other side, it could be mistaken. So once again I ask how can we know what is going on in someone else's brain?
If we ask them what prevents them from lying if they know there is punishment for telling the truth? If I know I will get kicked and/or banned for switching just to win or get a specific jet then if you ask me I will say it was to play on the same team as so and so, then how can you prove me wrong?

I think a place to call out switchers would be good but also bad, what if someone is accused falsely, or, rather inappropriately? Continuing with the example of you and your friends, I am not claiming to know any of you but just continuing with the familiar group here...But say some one that doesn't know anyone and is new to TTP saw this sticky about Team Switchers and saw that you/your buddies switched a bit and didnt announce their reasons for leaving. After a player has left your team you have very little way to know if they are being a teamplayer.
So that player could come here and say GMG and Himmyo were switching teams all night on Tuesday December 35th 1943...

Re: Team switchers
The only problem I see with a sticky for that is there will be an unbelievable number of complaints valid and in valid and every time it will become a giant debate about rank and such not being important and teamwork and such so while I agree those disreputable team switchers should be made to feel ashamed of what they do. I'm not sure a sticky would provide much benefit providing the worst ones don't even stop by this site that I have seen.
