11-25-07, 01:01 PM #1PR and listening
I was reading through the forums just now and was thinking, when playing PR you are listening intensely. If you hear rustling in the leaves, floorboards creaking ect. I have also notice that you hear other teammates and opfor players "talking" you know the "Roger That", "Okay", "Negative", "MEDIC!" or "Attack Here". I have been fortunate to hear these and get a few kills or escape a few deaths.
By that being able to hear those such things, shouldn't we also be able to hear their VoIP? It would make sense, wouldn't it. You can hear the other team in a "whisper" type, because if we were really out in the field we would be able to hear them.

However back to the original thought ... hearing VOIP would be interesting ... although ... I wonder how hearing that dead person would be handled.
I think it is an interesting idea and would certainly be fun to try. Although, before they do that, I wish they would fix/improve on their "kit" system. My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

It provides the development of organization. ie This here zone is heavy with armor traffic, lets give this squad the AT kits and over here is a perfect vantage of the other team's spawn place marksmen here.
The current kit system also prevents everyone and their uncle from taking the armor and air assests. Because noone is going to grab an APC charge into battle and drop it on the battle field only to die getting out because of the lack of armor and a reasonable fighting weapon. Same with helos and airplanes, players cannot take a plane and bail over the enemy flag and just lose the plane.
Also, you have to admit, the various kits in PR such as support and marksmen are rather kick ass!

Re: PR and listening
Oh ... don't get me wrong. I have no problem with limiting numbers of kits. Normally I will not go sniper (I like it up close and personal) unless we are getting owned by another sniper or if it is strategically advantageous ... I like owning several ridges in Bi Ming with the sniper rifle (see Bravo). I think I do a good job with sniping ... and that it isn't as much a challenge for me so I avoid it when I can. But, like I said, if we are getting pinned, need cover, or need to own part of the map, I will go snipe ... oh ... and if there is some crazy person unwilling to surrender, holed up in a fortress ... I'll try to snipe them out of existence when they are *cough* too good to get close enough for my knife! As for HAT, actually, most of the time I do that when it hasn't occured to anyone that this would be a good way to punish the nme tank or if I am instructed to do so (see tgross) .
Anyway, back to the discussion ... I am ok with kit limits. I just think they could think of a way to let you know what kits remain when you are selecting for a kit (other than going through the tedium of selecting multiple kits). It's just irritating and a waste of time/effort, imho.My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
