    PR and listening

I was reading through the forums just now and was thinking, when playing PR you are listening intensely. If you hear rustling in the leaves, floorboards creaking ect. I have also notice that you hear other teammates and opfor players "talking" you know the "Roger That", "Okay", "Negative", "MEDIC!" or "Attack Here". I have been fortunate to hear these and get a few kills or escape a few deaths.

By that being able to hear those such things, shouldn't we also be able to hear their VoIP? It would make sense, wouldn't it. You can hear the other team in a "whisper" type, because if we were really out in the field we would be able to hear them.

No that wouldn't be fair cause they would all go deaf from Commander flying over in the A-10 screaming "GET SOME!!!"

However back to the original thought ... hearing VOIP would be interesting ... although ... I wonder how hearing that dead person would be handled.

I think it is an interesting idea and would certainly be fun to try. Although, before they do that, I wish they would fix/improve on their "kit" system.

It just seems to make it awkward and problematic. I know they are going for realism, but I don't know that they gained anything by the way they set it up. Being able to change kits is a nice twist ... getting kits is annoying to me. For example, why do I have to cycle through every request to find out if there are any kits available? And then, after making so many requests (because I may be slow :P), I am not permitted to say/request anything for another "minute?"

Perhaps as I play more PR it will become insignificant, but for now, I don't see that their changes to the "kit" system have made significant improvements in the game or realism.

To be clear, I do like having "more" options.

Maybe less HAT and Sniper/Marksmen for you....

imo the various kit system is a great plus...it prevents there from being too many of a specific kit(except medic/rifle/engineer/spec op). That prevents it becoming a sniper fest or a AT ally for tanks to get destroyed it.

It provides the development of organization. ie This here zone is heavy with armor traffic, lets give this squad the AT kits and over here is a perfect vantage of the other team's spawn place marksmen here.

The current kit system also prevents everyone and their uncle from taking the armor and air assests. Because noone is going to grab an APC charge into battle and drop it on the battle field only to die getting out because of the lack of armor and a reasonable fighting weapon. Same with helos and airplanes, players cannot take a plane and bail over the enemy flag and just lose the plane.

Also, you have to admit, the various kits in PR such as support and marksmen are rather kick ass!

    Re: PR and listening

Oh ... don't get me wrong. I have no problem with limiting numbers of kits. Normally I will not go sniper (I like it up close and personal) unless we are getting owned by another sniper or if it is strategically advantageous ... I like owning several ridges in Bi Ming with the sniper rifle (see Bravo). I think I do a good job with sniping ... and that it isn't as much a challenge for me so I avoid it when I can. But, like I said, if we are getting pinned, need cover, or need to own part of the map, I will go snipe ... oh ... and if there is some crazy person unwilling to surrender, holed up in a fortress ... I'll try to snipe them out of existence when they are *cough* too good to get close enough for my knife! As for HAT, actually, most of the time I do that when it hasn't occured to anyone that this would be a good way to punish the nme tank or if I am instructed to do so (see tgross) .

Anyway, back to the discussion ... I am ok with kit limits. I just think they could think of a way to let you know what kits remain when you are selecting for a kit (other than going through the tedium of selecting multiple kits). It's just irritating and a waste of time/effort, imho.

That would be cool if they just put a number beside each kit type to show you how many were available. Maybe we could submit that suggestion to them.

Yeah something simple like a little "1/2" or "0/3" next to each kit, or as you mouse over the kit.
