    Mid-loading crash.

This wasn't brought up in the PR official help forums, so I'm posting here.

I start to join the TTP PR server, and about mid-way through the loading of the map, I have a CTD, with no error message whatsoever, it just dissapears from my screen. I have the latest patch of both Vanilla, and for PR.

    Any suggestions/solutions?

hmm i'm not sure about this...

it might just be some sort of inherent instability in the mod or the BF2 game itself.

but if this is a reoccurring problem...i'm not sure what to tell you.

Hm, maybe a fresh install of PR might help, some files aren't always installed the first time around.

    I suppose I'm lucky I get an average DL speed of 700Kbps, considering it's a 1.8gb file...

I have been working on the server.... I might have stopped it or restarted it and caused your problem.

Server is up now, go ahead and see if you can get in there.

Re-downloading PR, I believe my install was corrupt, and I'm also defragging my C drive, so I won't be playing for quite a while, maybe not at all tonight.

    !!

Not to be a thread hijacker, but that is brutally slow.

You might want to do a speed test and check you numbers. Here is a thread with instructions.

Uh, that's almost 1 Megabyte per second, and I'm using Comcast Cable, it's pretty fast for our needs here.

Bacon's right that it is brutally slow. What I thinkn you meant since you get near 1 meg is 700KBps. What you typed above indicates bits instead of bytes

Ok, using speedtest.net, and connecting to Denver, Colorado (which is practically 5 miles from where I live)...

    That's my Score apparently.

Might as well throw in San Fransico, California as well, since I download everything from the West Coast...

BTW, the issue was fixed a long time ago, and I'm no longer getting PB kicks, but Commander's already on top of PR, so we'll just wait.
