Other Realistic Games.
While playing this game, I got to thinking, what other games are realistic? Only other game that I've played that was similar to this was back in the day; Operation: Flashpoint.
The singleplayer campaign was INTENSE on that game. I remember on one mission you are tearing the Ruskies a new one using the A-10 Thunderbolt II when you run out of fuel and are forced to bail. You are then captured and brought to an outpost in some small remote city, and you get an opportunity to escape.
That was the first game where a game was actually scaring me. Its pitch-black, and every noise scared me.
You have to get to a safe-area that is like 5-8km away in the dead of night. You get into small wooded areas and run like hell as a two Mi-24 HIND's constantly sweep the area with spotlights and those deadly triple barrel 12.7mm gatling guns. Truck's, jeep's, BMP's, and infantry forces are patrolling the open areas and roads between the wooded areas, forcing you to wait for up to 30 minutes at time until you are sure the area is clear. Sometimes you would be flat-out running, other times you were slowly crawling through the trees as Russians discussed something 20 feet away from you.
You have no weapons, and if I remember correctly, no NV goggles. Your binoculars are your only weapon, and they are effective. This mission, which was just to survive and get back to the friendly occupied land took about an hour and a half of surviving and evading, and it left a lasting impression.
Any other games out there that a good on realism? I know ArmA is suppose to be good, so any thoughts on that or any other games are appreciated, although I think I already have on of the best games here at PR. If not the best, I do have the best community which makes up for anything the game lacks.

Obviously the L4D series, that goes without saying.
My favourite game of all time, Shenmue on the Dreamcast, I always have a game save in because I find it relaxing to stroll through Dobuita and play Space Harrier in the local arcade, or just browse the stores in general, talking to people and finding out information on things that you can't ordinarily discover on the first five or more playthoughs. This kind of game pleases me. I enjoy it so much because you can soak up the atmosphere of it all and relax while not having to worry about the main story branch.
I love Silent Hill 2 on PS2 also. Beautiful game, emotional (and cryptic) storyline that warrants multiple playthoughs. Play it roughly once a year.
Big fan of the Deus Ex series too. Cannot wait for the new one.DALLOWORKS

A few of my friends gave me free trails for it...but I've been too scared to play it. :P /whimp
I'm a GTA III fan myself. I like San Andres as well, but it's sort of difficult.
Xbox or PC?.
Have you gotten all the endings yet?. I love the Silent Hill series, but I'm a sissy. >.>
