As the subject says, I keep crashing to desktop like twice per map and its pissing me off. I have no idea why. Any help/suggestions?

In BF2? Could be anything. Let's see, you could try...
-Clearing the BF2 shader cache manually (C:\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 and delete everything there)
-defragmenting, preferably with something better than the default Windows defrag.
-updating video/sound/any other kind of card drivers that you use
And reinstalling. Which is always fun, but tends to resolve these problems when nothing else can. Oh, and it was good to see you in-game yesterday, even if you did shoot me in the face a few too many times.

It would help if you posted your specs or a dxdiag.
A lot of Battlefield 2 ctd issues are related to memory. You might want to try running a memory diagnostic like memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/). If it throws errors at you should look at having the problem stick(s) replaced.
I also had a ctd issue that came about because I was fiddling around with the punkbuster services. I would crash every time about 10 minutes into a round. I had to reinstall BF2 to get it working.

I have 1 gig RAM which I know is a huge problem but it has never been this bad.
I have XP and a Nvidia 6200 I believe. The Whole Enchilada man. All the patches in correct sequence. If you don't know said sequence then look at EA's site, it gives a breakdown in the forums. If you need me to assist you bro, we can either get on TS or i can call you. Just PM me your # again, i've lost it.

I Never Properly Introduced Myself, So...
Hello there,
My name is Devin, but if you're more comfortable with Left4Dev that's fine too. I joined the Left 4 Dead forums a few days ago and I just now found this catagory (due to my poor exploration skills), so I thought I should introduce myself. My Xbox Live gamertag is Dev64.
I play both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, and I like the original L4D a little more. I play on expert difficulty, I normally play with my team.
Yes I have a team, an incomplete team, but a team.
Their gamertags are Mark 0100 and CautiousTrilby, whenever I play L4D with them, I know it's going to be fun.
