BF2142/Mouse
I'm using an MX518 logitech mouse for BF 2142 which works pretty well. Does anyone play it using a G9 and what do you think? Can you use the two side scrolls as mouse buttons in it? Also, does it let you pick different key mappings for different games or even switch it in game.
I put this in this forum since I'm more concerned how it works for BF 2142.

Re: BF2142/Mouse
Well, what'dya know, I just happen to be using this mouse, and it kicks very much ass for all sorts of games. The two side buttons are much easier to use than the side buttons on most other mice I've used (G5, Copperhead, Diamondback), and the response on all of the buttons (including side-scroll buttons) is excellent.
As for key mappings, you can set every button on the mouse to do pretty much anything you want, including macros (although that may be frowned upon for certain things). I have the two side buttons set to squad and commander VoIP. As well, if you want to have different key mappings, you can save up to five different profiles which are saved on the mouse itself, which you can switch between at any time with a button on the bottom of the mouse. Plus, each profile is colour-coded with custom colours that you can set yourself.

Re: BF2142/Mouse
I give two thmbs up to the G5 as well. I like the button placement of the sensitivity buttons. On some logitech mice, the buttons are on opposite sides of the mousewheel. On the G5 they are both below and make switching sensitivity on the fly very quick and easy. Tracking is smooth and you can adjust the weight of the mouse if you like. My only complaint is 1 side button, but I do not usually use the side button for BF2142.
