As for the kits lying on the ground (pick up by standing near them and pressing g, the pick up anything that's yours button, i.e. sentry turrets, APMs, RDX, hubs, sonar, etc.):
Shield=Support
Crosshairs=Sniper
Assault Rifle (shaped like an M16)= Assault
and it's been so long since I've played that I can't remember what engineer kits look like. If someone could fill in that gap I'd appreciate it.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: Switching Kits Mid Round
I prefer to go engineer with a pilum or support with the clark shottie but I have made a point of being able to be versatile. I use to freak out when I would get revived and have a different kit... but lately I just play those kits until I respawn, usually it is a medic kit without any upgrades... no reason to wonder why that gets pawned off for another kit, lol. I really hate the way that the new patch has screwed up the kits so that you never know just what will be in there if you don't keep checking every time you spawn.
As far as changing kits, I rarely stay with the same kit all the way through a game... I will hear someone complaining about supplies and go support or the squad keeps getting killed and losing ground I spawn assault, I see a horde of enemy mechs and go in engineer, a sniper giving us hell I come back and countersnipe, etc. I think it is good to be versatile... though I usually bitch a lot about the assault rifle...
