The latest I see myself getting a brand spanking new PC will be maybe December or January so until then I can't play PC like I used to.
I have wanted to play Counterstrike for years and years though. That will be definite must get for me too, but like I said, L4D has spoiled me. Its very hard for me to like a FPS better than L4D.
But yeah, even to this day I am still a pro Unreal Tournament player, for both PC and 360. Thing is, I consider it pretty dead as everyone is on Halo, Battlefield and Call of Duty. I do miss the game on the PC. In fact, it was my first game I ever played on the PC (Unreal 1999)
Man, did I own the shit out of everyone with a Flak Cannon.
Oh, and Doom? To this day remains my favorite FPS. I did not play it on PC very much as I was forbidden not to play it years and years back due to its graphic nature and the controversy but I was always fascinated watching my brother play it. I have played it on PC though when no one wasn't around. Same with UT. I have Doom on Super Nintendo and 360 Arcade version, but it doesn't feel the same.Mincegamer: Crimson is a goldmine of funny quotes.KillerJay: I just realized what Creamy is to everyone; everyone loves him and nobody hates him.

Man I miss those Unreal days back when I had a gaming PC. We used to download every friggin custom map on the internet, including that HUGE bathroom map. But after a while I got bored of bunny hoppin with rocket launchers....
And doom, i still play that one. I have it on my blackjack II phone and it's pretty fun to play during bathroom breaks at work.

I remember LOVING the hell out of the gore in that game. I remember blowing some dude's torso off with an 8-Ball Gun. Laughed for hours.
I also squealed like a schoolgirl decapitating folks with the razorjack/ripper gun.Mincegamer: Crimson is a goldmine of funny quotes.KillerJay: I just realized what Creamy is to everyone; everyone loves him and nobody hates him.

I prefer the AK, with or without a laser sight. If not an AK, then the M16. I personally feel these two are better than the SCAR.
Hm.. i can't really compare it to CS, though.. seems too different to me. I've never played CS S, but the last half of my high school life was dominated by CS. Started from CS 1.1 and stopped playing at 1.5 or 1.6.. can't remember.. mainly because it was becoming boarder line unhealthy, i was playing it that much. What i do remember from the game was that it was much, MUCH more heavily dependent on actual skill and control to survive. You were basically forced to know your guns if you wanted to stand a chance at all.
Personally, i think any nub can pick up a gun in L4D and do pretty alright with it. The guns in L4D are user friendly like that, but from what know of the past CS game, it's quite brutal in comparison. You have to moderate your rate of fire for maximum efficiency, since it often takes less than a second to kill or be killed. You can get away with being a terrible shot in L4D, as you'll probably kill that zombie eventually even if it takes an entire clip, but CS is less forgiving.
I dunno, maybe i'm being too anal about it since i was a hardcore CS player at one stage, but i reckon the demand for control in CS is in a whole other class than what's needed for L4D; therefore using CS as an example of how to properly moderate gun fire, although totally relevant, shouldn't need to be taken too seriously since the L4D game is pretty lenient on those who can't aim/shoot worth a shit.
Unless, that is, they changed things significantly for CS S.. then i wouldn't know.

While CS may be less forgiving because you're up against other humans, the accuracy/recoil model of the game are similar to L4D. The point is that the AK-47, while wildly inaccurate when firing extended bursts, stays on target for the first 2-3 rounds, and the first round in the burst is pinpoint accurate.
