Play to win or play for points?
And don't say both because you can't really play both ways. If you happen to be really good and get lots of points while executing orders then great but you aren't playing for points.
Personally, I really like the teamwork aspect of BF2142 and enjoy being in a squad that communicates and works well together. I have noticed many players though that seem to have no interest in capturing objectives and simply play around the periphery looking for kills and tags. I'm not sure there's anything wrong with that but I do hate it when you're on a losing team because half the people aren't working together regardless of whether they're on a squad or not.

Welcome to TTP misterkrab, where just that sort of selfish play is not only discourage, it is actively purged from the server.
Read the rules:
#3. Pursue your objective, or die trying. Our admin work hard to keep everyone teamed up and playing for the goal. If your having problems or notice lone wolf style players let the admin know, or bring their name here to the forums.

Not going for the objective because you just want points does go against TTP rules and regs I believe. Given, sometimes people might be covering their teammates approach, but most people who stay back are either afraid or just want points (even though by following orders you get more points through bonuses and whatnot; ironic isn't it). There is a difference between needless dying while trying and dying while trying (i.e. the enemy orbital is hitting the objective, wait a few seconds then go for it). Call people out who do it especially if you know they are regulars. Regulars should know better.
I don't know whether or not it is bannable, but it is something heavily frowned upon.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: Play to win or play for points?
ALWAYS play for the win. Being in a squad and following orders gets you nothing but points. The points will come easily when you are being a team player. IMHO a player that looks out for the team interest over his own gets much more respect than a player that is just looking for points.
And the bonus for being a team playerThey don't get banned from TTP servers!!
