Last night, fresh round of Port Bavaria, I am forming a squad and see a team mate on my minimap go from the back base to the East Dock like SuperMan. I immediately started asking my squad to pay attention to who the 1st person to die or capture a flag is. I figured out who the guy was and had already sent the ban command as he joined my squad. As he read it, we could all hear him say "ohhhh mannnn".
I've banned 3 people in the last few days for pod surfing.
Drop it in idle chat that hacks get caught around here, non teamplay isn't tolerated, TKs for the sake of TK'ing doesn't fly. We can reform good players, but if they get banned for hacking/glitching first, we won't get that chance.

I've got to go pick up cousins at the airport.
But essentially, in 2142, some of our vehicles have the classic ejection seat out of a James Bond car or something. Some of them go straight down. Others let you go a limited distance with minor control since you're inertia is moving you so fast in a particular direction.
Surfing is radically changing that path, flight time, or increasing the distance. It can be used to circumvent the layout of maps by bypassing enemy defenses. Since you just ejected, you can get to control points at the beginning long before the enemy has a chance to get there and setup defense.
These are just quick examples, others will expound soon I'm sure.

yes....I've seen the same on Port B as well
podding from the APC insertion at the base of the docks to all the way back to the main gate of the enemy just to steal a piece of hardware
punk messed with the wrong woman that daywas so sad to see him go <wipes a tear>
seems a popular map to do that on since there are tons of APCs and the height they give ya there
