Oh snap! Wolverine wants to step up to the big leagues?!?!?!

Seriously, you'll be blown away (in the mental sense). You will think, "Its just a mod, it can't be that much different. I am one of the best players on BF2, so i sohuld be able to play PR no problem." Its intense. Strangely, it can get real adrenaline pumping, and you will feel scared to move, fearful that one of the supressive fire bullets will catch your scalp.

I can't wait to fight alongside you in the PR Battlefield.

Amid Controversy, EA Pulls Taliban From Medal of Honor Multiplayer

Last month we discussed news that upcoming shooter Medal of Honor would allow players to take the role of Taliban forces in multiplayer games, causing no small amount of consternation among political groups and military supporters. Now, Electronic Arts and developer Danger Close have bowed to pressure and announced that the Taliban side would simply be referred to as "opposing force." Quoting executive producer Greg Goodrich: "The majority of this feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. For this, the Medal of Honor team is deeply appreciative. However, we have also received feedback from friends and families of fallen soldiers who have expressed concern over the inclusion of the Taliban in the multiplayer portion of our game. This is a very important voice to the Medal of Honor team. This is a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It is a voice that we care deeply about. ... While this change should not directly affect gamers, as it does not fundamentally alter the gameplay, we are making this change for the men and women serving in the military and for the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice — this franchise will never willfully disrespect, intentionally or otherwise, your memory and service.

In my opinion, censorship is too strong these days. Alot of people seem to think that game developers who include things like the Taliban as a playable faction must be outright supporters of them and have little to no respect for Allied soldiers and their families.

I remember when Resident Evil 5 was coming out and people were calling Capcom racist simply because it had you killing a large amount of black people. All I have to say myself is: It's a game. A form of relaxation where you can just chill and kill a bunch of virtual monsters for a couple of hours, something to get your mind off of everyday life. Race or religion shouldn't even matter in the world of video games because they aren't political tools, they exist to entertain you.

Besides, it's only in the multiplayer games. Call of Duty has you playing as Nazis, Russian Terrorists, Middle-Eastern Militias that are different from the Taliban only in name, and rogue military divisions. (I think)

    Dead Prodigy: HIDE.
    Parlock: I AM.
Dead Prodigy: DON'T LET IT SMELL YOUR FEAR.
Parlock: IT DOESN'T NEED TO SMELL MY FEAR, I SHAT MYSELF.

^ This I agree with completely

The people who expressed their concern need to realize that Medal of Honor is a Video game. Just because the simulation contains elements from modern military and terrorist groups doesn't mean that they show disrespect for either one. If these people truly believe this, they would have done the same thing in the previous Call of duty games with the unnamed but identical band of mid eastern forces in multiplayer. Just doesn't seem right.

Whats funny is that you could most likely read a book about this, maybe see a movie but never play a game.
I wanted you to know, that by reading this signature you have wasted approximately 6.235 seconds of your life.

So you don't see the difference between an enemy that's 70 years old vs an enemy we're still facing? I'm pretty sure OpFor is mainly just for combat training.

Anyway, on topic - I can understand why they did this. It's not worth the hassle they'd get, when they can easily just make up a name for the enemy.

I read about this when they first told us about the option. Some people said that if they included the Taliban, it was a slight against America and it's troops and they would not buy it. HOWEVER some people said they did not care and it was just a game. My opinion? GOTH INDIFFERENCE AT MAXIMUM LEVEL!
