3 star amongst our ranks?

Yesterday while playing, grendeljx logged on, and we (most of us) know him well, and when I took a close look at his rank, it showed the Large Star with 3 stars below it. I forget what rank this is, but it's right before Supreme Commander. If this was a bug, oh well. If grendel actually got the 3rd officer rank, then BIG congrats to him, he deserves a good pat on his back for outperforming all of us.

Checked it on battlefield site. Lieutenant General. Pretty impressive. I'm always curious what you have to do to get that rank. Maybe he can tell us all

There was another 3-star on last night in addition to grendeljx. I forget what his name was, but I did a double-take at the scoreboard when I saw that.

Ask Frau about it sometime, I think she's the only other regular to have been promoted past Brig. General.

I wish I could find the thread on the Total BF2142 forums, but one of the DICE guys stated that it has to do with the total # of points accumulated over a month period, your SPM and K

Ratio. Unfortunately, the formulas they used didn't check for stat padders and hackers, so most of the 'glory' went to folks who either played all the time, or hacked/padded their way to the rank. Anyone who earned it legit deserves praise, because so many of them cheated their way to the top. I really wish DICE would let you earn the ranks above Brig, instead of handing it out based on a certain formula. The top ranks of BF2, where there were ties in to awards and whatnot seemed to work fairly well.
