    Getting dropped at map change

Hello, my name is clint, and I am an addict.

Sometimes, when the map changes, I get dropped from PR.

I am not missing any maps. I can restart and join.

I am running vista64 home, and 4 GB of ram. I don't get the negative address errors that I have been warned of, so I doubt that is it.

Do any of you ever experience this at map change?

BTW- I got the jet off the ground yesterday, taxi feature is tight.

Tried to fly the helicopter. Its like trying to ride a unicycle on top of a beachball. Gravity wants you to fail.

I do get it myself. common factor here is vista. it gets a memory error from time to time when switching maps.

That's good news. I can take it, just wanted to know whether others are suffering the same issue.

Pr is worth it, and map changes don't occur often.

    Now for your second issue...

Do you let the bird warm up? It takes something like 30-45 seconds for it to get its props in full spin, you notice it sort of lifts itself slightly then you know your good to go. I love flying the transport Helos, they are loads of fun.

Also, dont use a joystick your first time. I know mine is F'd up but my uncle's is really high dollar. Neither of us can fly using the joystick; we tried it out on the "practice kashan" map on a local server. I died over 150 times just trying to get off the ground in a chopper >.<!

I will let it warm up in the future. I just hit the throttle and pushed off.

I will set up my secondary controls for the mouse on flying to avoid the joystick.

I hate flying with the mouse in vanilla. I know, I know - this isn't vanilla.

    Thanks for the tips.

I fly exclusively with joystick...but you will need to turn the sensitivity down.

That is the specific and only symptom of the negative memory address problem. I would get a crash during map change only, every 1 to 3 map changes until I got a fix.

Double Tap, is your Vista 64 bit with greater than 2 gigs?

Bummer Soy, I had hoped it wouldn't stike, but it appears that it has.

It doesn't happen in vanilla, so I thought I had doged the bullet.

The fix is modifying the exe, which then can generate checksum or hash errors right? If so, I will probably just reload PR when it happens. It only takes about 10 - 11 seconds

I got a great deal on the ram, and couldn't resist. Even if I am not using it.
