Thread: Fix For Punk Buster Kicks!!!

Good afternoon.

Many people have had problems getting disconnects from the BF2 server which includes bf2, sf or pr (could be 2142 as well). The problem is Punk buster not auto updating itself, because of firewall/ port issues (and stupid coding on their part). Since you have an old version it kicks you.

Go to the link below which is PB's homepage and put the pbsec.htm in your PB folder in your Bf2 directory (and all other games that have a pb directory that you use as well) and it should start auto updating... Secondly you can manually update pb which i recommend to do first.
On the same page download pbsetup and run it, it will find all pb games on your machine and then click on the game and hit update.

I had huge problems connecting to the PR server and getting kicked for PB and this fixed it. I think this will solve many peoples problems. Take a look.

Side note today at 12:00 pm ish the ea login server went down... not sure why.

Handshake Issues

thank you so much for the help believe me when i tell you it will save me from so much griping by my roommate because he got kicked once again..it also works great for me as now i can play without getting kicked and maybe even get those kills that i missed because of the kick

There was a new update pushed out. Manually download it if you are not getting it ingame. I notice that when an update comes out, I get all laggy in game. I cancel out, get the update, get back in game, and everything runs fine.

Maybe we can use this thread to keep tabs on when PB pushes out upgdates.
