Re: BF2 Top-5 Server
Why? Because it's about what players want, not what TTP thinks players want that populates servers. If SF can't keep itself populated, adding or not adding a different server won't change that. BF2142 got a top-5 server, why not BF2?
But hey, do whatever. The numbers speak for themselves.

I will take a shot at why. We have a vanilla server, a SF server, and a PR server. Vanilla and PR pretty much take care of themselves. SF on the other hand never gets full, and needs SEVERAL REGULARS to get it going at all. If we started another server that would mean we would need SEVERAL MORE REGULARS to get it primed every day. That being said we are asking alot of our regs to prime 2 new BF2 flavor servers. If the admin vote was to replace the SF server with the top 5 server I would disagree, but support the decision.

Re: BF2 Top-5 Server
I would tend to agree with Rob. And not because numbers are what they are. Fact is, we aren't ever going to see stellar numbers like the vanilla server because there just isn't the kinda support out there for such an old game.
What does work for the creation of a Top5 is the fact that we have the space and if we were to put one on there, it wouldn't interfere with any other instance. If that's the case, then you have to ask yourself, if TTP is the end-all be-all, and we do things better than anyone else, then why aren't we going for the EF/AF market? Even if it's a small market to begin with, if we offer it, chances are, we'll be doing it better than anyone else. Which means we will not only provide our own players a wider selection when gaming, we'll also be offering a better destination for those who haven't found our server, yet will likely find it once the server is up.
I think that if we are to offer a Top5/AF/EF server, now is the time. The game's not getting any younger, and we just might expand our player base by being one of the only server's offering the full BF2 experience (BF2, SF, AF, EF, and PR).
That's huge.

E/F NEW WEAPONS!
http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/battlefield-2-euro-force
and the maps are fun also.
My vote on the Top 5 are
karkand
sharqi
mashtuur
jalalabad
dalian plant
good all around maps focusing mostly on ground pounding.
Unless TTP decides to create Infantry Only, IO players hunger for maps like Songhua and Wake, with your regular city maps rotation, the top 3 of my top 5. jalalabad is nasty on IO for USMC. Oman is also pretty good for IO battling on the sand dunes.

The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks
My girlfriend loaned me this book, and I highly recommend it to any zombie fan. Rather you believe a zombie crisis will happen or just think they are fictitious, I still recommend it. It has a lot of neat, useful(or useless depending on who you are) information and some REAL zombie accounts, some recent, some not so recent. Anyway, it's just really, really cool and I had to share it with those that don't know about it. I think it retails around $15 paperback.
