The rules are fine, base rape is a strategy used to distract the enemy team and disable the commander. All areas of the battlefield are hostile, stay alive out there soldier and be a teamplayer.

    Re: Laws & Gravity

ok lets first approach this as a player and then an admin of the server.

As a player your objective is to win. You do this by capturing flags. To better enable your team to capture flags on the field of battle you try and tactically remove enemy armor, apcs and helicopters(jets too if the map has them). Now there are many ways you can take down the enemy. Sneak up on their tank while it is giving support from the hills, strap some C4 on him and blow the fuck out of him or at range use your HAT. Unfortunately that tank has been advancing and supporting the infantry attack, so he is taking down your team's jeeps and infantry and maybe an APC. He is killing your team. Now to prevent him from doing this you catch him with his pants down when his turret has yet to activate rolling out of the base. Strategically if you can do it with out losing the flags behind you, you are in the clear. Now if it is just a person or two that do have orders to be else where from someone above doing the attack, it is not so good. But it works.

As an admin, how the hell is an admin supposed to pick who is base raping and who is not, unless they are the ones doing the attack. If they are under attack, they know they are raping however..who? if they are on the other team and deployed on the other side of the map how can they be sure that those who are screaming rape are telling the truth? Thirdly who the hell deserves a get out of jail free card? Huh? No one. You either grit your teeth and try to escape another way or quit don't bitch on the server and don't come here bitching about it.

Everyone has an equal opportunity to do the raping. Rally your team and push out. Break out. Or maybe next round you do the raping? The admins are not here to give one side help if they can't cut the cheese themselves. You are asking an admin to intervene because your team lacks the team coordination and skill to repel the attack. Admins on this server do not provide aid to those who lack the skill, they are here to make sure everyone follows the rules. Which you have found.

Base rape is allowed. Not going to change. Never. Enough crying, wipe your eyes and get back out there.

Oh and how the fuck is the MEC on Zatar keeping the US's birds from taking off? They can not get to the landing zones without being killed for leaving the battlefield. They are not on the carrier as you claim. They have taken to the hills and set up a defense that your team was unable to figure a way around. May I suggest taking the helicopters higher before advancing over land? Or maybe going around the landing zones head for farm first then make your way to the landing zones from behind enemy lines?

    Bah I hate these topics.

After rereading your post I'd also like to add this too. Your tanks, jeeps and APCs are gone! OH NO! Wait!? You got legs too? Wow...hhmmmm, I have legs...they are focused at this entry to the base and where the vehicles spawn...lets avoid being seen and sneak out the back, crawling on my belly and finally once I am out of sight get up and run. Set up a rally with your squad members and hike it(go figure you have a long walk, better than being stuck at base getting a tank shell up your ass). Run to the nearest procurable flag. Approach it cautiously and infiltrate and capture it. They will then be thinking WTH? and come kill you. Maybe that is enough to rally your team. Confuse the enemy? who knows but it is better than crying.

I don't understand why baseraping is continuously called a "strategy". You go into their base and ruin their sh*t. It's kind of a no brainer and really easy to do with a little luck on your side. I was just on Qwai River where at the beginning of the match me and another guy got into a tank, drove all the way to their main with little opposition(most of their team must've taken the northern road to Govt. Offices) and were immediately able to begin baseraping. Not exactly an advanced tactic. After a humorous engagement with one of their slowly filling little birds I blew about 5 guys away and riddled a couple more on the ground with bullets. If I wanted to I could've stayed there a few more minutes while the rest of my team caught up and joined in on the baserape, but that's lame so we pulled out and headed toward the objective. There's nothing more boring than a one sided match, and me personally I get bored whether I'm the one being baseraped or the one doing the baseraping. It's pretty much just fun for the people who are only concerned about their K ratio.

To play devils advocate a moment, it is possible to shoot the helicopters on the carrier without being in the landing zone on Zatar. It takes some skill and knowing where the helos spawn, but it is possible.

Still doesnt keep the US from using the LAVs to get to the landing zones though.

JB pretty much hit the nail so hard it left a big, deep, circle in the frame from the hammer. You cannot say, "Hey! Admins! We are losing, so kick these guys so we can win!"

TTP has been around BF2 for awhile, and they have found that this is an effective way to win for a team.

RHYS, its part of the game. No one likes to be on the recieving end of base raping; it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a while. What you got to do in these situations is rally together and find a way to either repel the threat, or find a way to out flank the hostiles and get on their rear.

If its a tank, jump in some armor or grab a HAT/LAT. If its CAS, grab a AA kit (many people forget about this kit), or jump on the AA around the base. Then, when the opprutunity is right, you can do your team a favor by destroying their assets before they pose a threat to your troops.

Had the developers not wanted to allow base raping, they'd of put a bubble of death around it, jsut like the LZ's on Zatar or Hills of Hymong.

Its part of the game, and the reason a lot of servers make it a rule is because they get droves of people bitching and whining about how they are losing. Its a temporary problem that will go away with a little strategy on your part, or just give it time and someone else will step up to the plate and take care of the problem.

There's all the regular maps... then there's Al Kufrah... You can get some massive base rape going on there Brit -> MEC.

But the only thing I don't like about base rape, is when it is SOLEY that. As in Al Kufrah, you cannot grab a kit when you spawn, and the enemy wont try to take the flag. So the game drags out about 40min of the MEC spawning and dieing. That does get pretty boring.

Exactly. I'll base rape if it hase strategical importance and is beneficial to my team, but people that do it just to get a good score and ignore all the fact that the flags behind them are being capped, thats when its a problem.

    Re: Laws & Gravity

only time i found base rape in PR was, we were spawning at Farm outpost (qinling), 2-3 mgs were camped around the bunker killing everyone spawning in....they were not destroying anything, nor the bunker......would understand if he was like "oh shit, someone spawned, kill him.." and then proceeded on, but they were clearly there for kills only, prone looking at the spawn points...

and they didn't have any flags beside chinesse fob...so what the fuck where ammo guys doing out there.... not team playing, but that was when i was a PR noob (yes, i was there once ) some time ago...

    Re: Laws & Gravity

I used to be fine with the baserape rule until yesterday, it was a 9 vs 10 on kashan, jets just spawned and i got kicked for ping (suprise suprise). So rejoined the server and blackmore had saved the A-10 for me, but here comes Mr. Radiation (no hate on you anymore mate ) and kills us all in one run, A-10, F-16, and maybe a Blackhawk.

Seriously, 9 vs 10 and they were baseraping like little bitches, there were infantry taking flags but they didn't give a shit about them, they were only interested raping us, and AA, they can't hit shit with the amount of flares jets have (nothing bad about that when i'm flying ). Usually a jet will attack the main, take out their jets (good tactic, nothing bad about that) then leave and help their team, but this went on all round, even when there was only like 2 people at the main.

My point, sometimes it can be really, really, annoying (i probably wouldn't have cared if i wasn't real pissed with my internet :P), and the other times, it's just a little bitch tactic so they can get their kills to come first, and the other times, they rape once, and leave us alone, thats perfect, good job, i praise you for doing it!
