Thread: Curious idea

Supply boxes from the commander also repair equipment within a certain radius from the box. That box is a full 3D 360, not just a 2D plane.

I also know that a shield that is still up on a titan destroys incoming supply boxes. Well, it does for sure on the flight deck, the general shield I THINK destroys boxes that touch it.

Can someone please try dropping a commander supply kit on top of the titan and see if it will repair the guns as you sit in it? Its a running battle sometimes that I repair a gun and try to knock out the AA guns under the titan at the same time.

I'm thinking the globe of goodness that surrounds the supply box may fix the gun. Leaving the engineer commander free to man the gun(s) a little longer.

I don't think that he has managed to take down a titan with his saaw ... yet.

i seem to remember awhile ago, and it has probably since been changed in subsequent patches (because i know its no longer true), that the advanced ammo box would resupply everyone in the titan if a support guy sat on the guns.

As for repairing the titan guns, are we talking about the AA guns or cannons pointed towards that blasted earth?

Somehow i don't think it will work.


Come to think of it, you can't repair Goliath pannels can you?

I *think* it was Frau who said she had some success repairing the goliath panels. I've never tested it.

As far as being resupplied, I know I will sit in the titan guns while I am commanding and something resupplies me on occasion. They are not in another of the gun seats. I do think it is someone waiting to blast off out of the ejection chambers that resupply me.

I'm pretty evenly split on whether or not the resupply box will repair the gun. It pretty much can't be tested till the shield goes down, I think. I am fairly sure the shield destroys supply boxes, but could easily be wrong. And the guns I am referring to are the ground cannons. Of course, logic would extend that if it fixes the ground cannons, it would probably fix the AA guns as well.

I'm thinking just like a vehicle, it only gets repaired by the supply box if someone is occupying the vehicle. Perhaps the gun seats have to be occupied? Worth checking next time I am commanding unless someone else beats me to it.

All titan shields destroy supply boxes.

I tried testing this out when the server was empty today. The shields do in fact destroy all friendly/hostile supply boxes. On the EU titan there are parts of the roof that poke above the shield so you can land a box there even with the shields up.

I landed a box in the cylinder furthest to the back of the titan. It was too far away to reach the gun controls for repairs. I emptied some of my ammo and then stood next to the controls as close to the box as I could and it wouldn't resupply me. Then I podded up top and it resupplied me just fine.

I think if we try it during an actual game when you can land a box right next to the cylinders so it's closer it might work.
