New to BF2142, but not TTP, looking for help

just bought and currently downloading 2141, ive seen the trailers and EA explanation and it looks cool, but sadly thats about how deep my experience is.

i bought this game because it seemed like it had some great teamwork based gameplay and i hope to take part in that.

if you see me on ill be 33knight33 and would readily accept any tips you can spare.

Welcome, good sir. I recommend flying the gunships as I do to every new player. They're a way to get lots of points as people like Laggy can attest to knowing.

LIES!! I would suggest staying away from the gunship until you fly it a little. Just join a squad hopefully with some regs and ask for help. I would say though easiest way to get points in the beginning is just capture any flag or silo you can, and kill anything you see on the way.

Some of the information is dated. Such as the sonars always seem to work right on the 1st shot, unlike when they first came out, but anyway, hella lot of info here

dont fly when laggy or dj is on the other team. they will just upset you

Simple strategy in 2142 is: Crouch, zoom, shoot. The game boils down to just that. Also rez as much as you can as a medic on a conquest map. This will help protect your tickets.

so ive been playing for a little while now and appriciate all the tips...

but i really cant seem to do anything of importance on the battlefield... for entire maps ill have less than 5 kills

i guess i just havent figured out a good killing system

(a point of review, 2142 seems to have a lot more emphesis on vehicles than i thought it would... dont know how i feel about that yet...)
