I SAW THE LIGHT......
"I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.
Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that Radeon gave back his sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light."
I was playing single player last night, after being slapped around by Hinder and Trail and others last night before the server filled up, on my new video card and MB. And I have to say WOW. Even at work my graphics are not that night. I feel like I had cataracts removed and everything is so much clearer. So if you see me just standing there looking like a person just walked out of a dark room into full sunlight yell at me to get my head back in the game and stop looking at the eye candy.
And just incase you’re a geek and want to know what I am running now here is what was just installed.
AMD Athlon 3200+ 754 ATI RS482 Micro ATX Motherboard
Radeon X1650 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 CrossFire Supported Video Card
1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory
Nothing too special but still a sight better than what I used to have.

I went from a Athlon 64 X2 4200+ with a GeForce 7600 GT (3400 3DMark06) to my current rig which is an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ with a GeForce 8800 GT (11000 3DMark06) and I can now finally play 2142 at 1600x1200 (native resolution of my LCD) with almost everything dialed up to the max. Some things I intentionally turn down (Lighting mainly) to achieve a better view through the sniper scope on the dusty maps like Tunis and Gibraltar. Cuts down on the red haze in the Zellar scope, and improves the view in the Park & Moretti.
Still a touch of lag/choppiness on the titan, but it's MUCH better since we went back to 48 player.
