I am posting this here so that others may get some benefit from it as well as hoping that those this was meant for get a chance to visit and see that we are not out to attack them but only want teamwork.

It is an awesome server, for 2142 as well as other games, that over 3500 members of the site have come to find fits their playing styles. Most of my playing time is during the afternoons and the TTP servers for 2142 are empty, mainly because most regulars are over 20, have family, jobs and lives, after 5:00 the severs start filling up. But since I also have a family and a Job I mostly play on my work break. That means I have to get my fill of playing on other servers. I have played Tactical Gamers, Moongamers and a few others that profess teamwork as being paramount, and I have yet to find a server that holds as true to that concept; though game play there is still fun. If your playing style is not along the lines of TTP then as stated before by others, TTP really isn’t for you, as I would daresay neither are some of the other sites but maybe less so. But the times that I play TTP, and I have never played on bigdogs squad (not saying that it would be bad mind you), I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

But I urge you to not throw away any possibility of not playing on TTP because of impression you may have received, valid or not, by what has been said here. Bigdog is a good guy, very opinionated, and strong willed. He has to be; he created a strong server community and makes sure, along with his moderators and admins, that it doesn’t stray from its intended goal, teamwork. He envisioned a community (and here I am assuming, but I feel correctly) that the teamwork platform type games could be played as the creators of the games intended, not as many evolved into, bunny hopping, dolphin diving, havens for children who want nothing more than to say “noob” and “pwnd”. And anyone who would come into that community trying to undermine the intended pattern of play would not be tolerated. As the posts here started going toward claiming that TTP was not a good place to play it appears he took the roll as a protective “father” who’s “child” was being threatened and went on the defense. A lot of what he said is dead on. If you don’t like playing as a cohesive team or can’t play within a command structure that expects you to do certain things, then you might not fit in at TTP.

But I urge you, before you write off TTP and its community, try playing on the server for two weeks, visit and participate in the forums and see what the community is like. I would lay a wager that you will, if not right off, quickly, find that they are a good bunch but diverse group. A group that has their own opinions and ways of thinking but still work together for the betterment of the community of gamers and teamwork. You may find some who you don’t “click” with, you may make some good friends. But I guaranty that you will get a fulfilling game play and experience.

No teamplayer ever gets shit for me. SJT yells at people for sucking sometimes. I do the same, but only if it's sucking related to being a non-teamplayer. I'll teach a 6 year old how to be a good commander, so long as little billy is on the mic, responsive, and ready to play.

My assets were gone and I had someone yelling at me to give people orders. Might have been someone else, figured it was you since everyone says you like to yell a lot :P

I do not "like" to yell at anyone.

give me a good squad and a commander that stays in touch, gives us orders, etc......and you won't see me game any happier.

I just have an absolute intolerance for those who feel it is their "right" to not communicate on their mic, chat, or other means. They join the server, become a commander, and say nothing, order nothing, do nothing. Or, even worse, they join my squad, and say nothing, follow nothing, and do nothing.

I got past pitying these people years ago. Now, I have learned that these people are merely in the way of teamplayers, who might be trying to connect. So it is my DUTY to harass, kick, and ban those who feel they do not have to play with the team. the more I do this, the more teamplayers we find, inspire, create, and recruit. It's a good system. Believe in it.

Wouldn't be here if I didn't.
