I just watched 5 people, that I consider regulars switch servers aftger a crash...we would have had enough to play, but intead we are sitting waiting for more people to join.

I often take a crash as my cue that it's late and I need to get some sleep.

edit: I wasn't on tonight, so even though I said that, don't blame me.

as a lot of people do...but then you look at game tracker for the other server and see them there...just sad.

sometimes when the server crashs(top5), im sick of playing sidi. so i switch, because its hard to get a map vote to work

I just consider it as the server 'resarting'. But, this too does disapoint me because ppl leave and never come back so after waiting 10 min for 3 or 1 more ppl to join I leave. Just saying

If you want a map vote to actually work, DO IT AS SOON AS THE SERVER STARTS. I've never failed to bump the rotation when the server reboots after a crash.

Get the attention of an admin and ask for a map change. Even if there isn't one in game one is usually watching the CC console out of game.

Well, seems it's finally happening. According to xbox360achievements.org.

Valve has announced via its Left 4 Dead Blog that Left 4 Dead 2 is set to get brand new DLC in the form of Matthew Lourdelet's community campaign entitled 'Cold Stream'. According to the blog post, Cold Stream boasts "innovative gameplay arenas and effects" while showing that "there are still plenty of new ideas in L4D2 modding."

The original plan was for Lourdelet to complete the campaign with Valve's help before quietly releasing it as DLC, but instead the developer has decided to allow the community to be "part of the process of taking his unfinished campaign and releasing it as DLC on the Xbox 360, PC and Mac."

As a non-story-driven campaign, Cold Stream will serve as an experiment to see how a DLC with no new audio or narrative is received. It sounds to us like Valve is hedging its bets for the DLC's success however, with the developer stating what players can expect from it: "The easiest starting point for new campaigns is the three remaining Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns, so the DLC will include those. We also want something brand new and Cold Stream is the perfect fit."

There's no name or date specified for the forthcoming Left 4 Dead 2 DLC as yet, although Valve does state that it will arrive sometime after Portal 2. "Why don’t we set some date in stone right now?" the Blog post continues. "Because the real answer to when we are going to release something is always – when it’s ready."

So, now you know! Portal 2 is out in April 2011, so expect to see the new Left 4 Dead 2 DLC - featuring the community Cold Stream campaign - after that.
