You use keyboard and mouse for jets..... Damn!!!

I use mouse for the chopper, joystick for plane is a MUST!
I only use the keyboard for the jet...no mouse at all...same with the helicopter. If i´m gunning for the helo, I use the mouse to guide the TV missiles... other than that, 100% keyboard control.

I´ve never tried flying with a joystick. Any brand you can recommend so I can improve my flying?anyone?

I am not the best pilot, mainly due to lack of seat time, but this is what I use. Pleanty of buttons to map the necessary items, and affordable.

    Re: joystick in plane

I have total control over the jet with my Satek set up. It is just a matter of getting use to the speed of the jet, learning when to drop the bombs and strafe. When I killed Chosen the other day...I just fired at the aircraft carrier...never really saw him at all. The jet responds well to all of the manuvering I have put it through...so it's just getting use to flying the damn thing. I also use the Satek controls when playing Aces High. That is an entirely different type of flying though....a lot more realistic.

Not sure what you mean on the "mouse view"....I have the rear view mapped to the hat on my stick.

    Re: joystick in plane

Your top hat is the joystick in a joystick on top of your primary joy stick. The reason I ask is that if you use a joystick and you want to look around while flying to spot enemy aircraft I currently have to jump to the mouse and at that time I use the mouse and keyboard to fly. Then when I am ready to engage I switch back to joystick. Btw If you don't know the mouse view allows you to look around while flying diffent from the rear, front, and chase view. I can map the button to goto mouse view but I can't map the tophat to look around. If somebody has pulled this off please let me know

I have my hat mapped to different views. I can't "rotate my head" if that is what you are seeking, but forward on my hat is cockpit, back is rear view, I don't remember left and right exactly, but one is nose and one is chase.
