Some sort of high power, semi auto rifle-
Something like the current snipers but without a scope, and more tuned to mid range instead of long range accuracy. Ammo would be lower like a sniper to account for the power. This is what I would consider as a weapon that takes just a tad more skill to be successful with seeing as how you can't just spray and pray.
Revolver-
I like the old colt single actions, but for the game a modern 6 shot magnum revolver could be cool. It would be another one of those weapons that takes a little more skill, since the reload is a little slower than an auto.
Also, while it would be hard to implement, and probably not work, I think some guns should be prone to jamming. A fully auto for example, if used a TON could jam. Then you could have like a 3-5 second delay before hosing down zombies again.

I was hoping we could use more fist action. Brass knuckles shit, yanno? Shoving helps but I want to just punch the fuck out of my enemies. >D

Tier 1 weapons:
Basic pump shotgun (as always)
Tec-9 for the SMG
Introduce a tier-1 version of hunting/sniper rifle the "winchester" or "thirty-thirty"
Replace the Desert Eagle 'magnum' with a nice 44 magnum revolver like the Smith and Wesson 29 (Dirty Harry's gun) or Ruger Redhawk. Chance the names if needed.
Expand Melee weapons to include:
-Hammer (carpenter's hammer)
-Tire Iron
-Nun chucks
-Rambo Knife/Survival Knife (or kitchen cleaver)
-Pool Cue

Oh, I'd like to see a rifle that can take out a tank in just a handful of shots. I am thinking like an elephant gun or something. It would be extremely powerful but with low capacity and slow reload time mostly you'd have one guy carry it on his back while using pistols/melee weapons.
I'd say let it reload from the ammo pile, the limited ammo restriction seems to work best IMHO with guns you need to limit people using against hordes of the trash zombies. If someone wants to overkill individual zombies with an elephant gun, it won't unbalance anything, so let them.
Anyways I am thinking a 4 shot bolt action rifle in 375 H&H or 416 Rigby, maybe a two-shot side-by-side in 577 Nitro Express

a thought ladies and gents.... maybe add in some stuff like on dead rising 2 were you can collect parts ingame to upgrade your guns! ie: bayonet(the sword thingie on a rifle) cymbol monkeys automatic nail gun(like a minigun wif nails!) etc... also maybe some new features like breakable melee weapons(cause pwnin hunters with a machete gets old) new melle wepons like sledgehammers, umbreeas, bottles, kitchen knives andhammers. And while im at it some seriously hevy fire power like flamethrowers, revolvers bazookas grenade launcher attachments flamethrower atachments and the p90!

Gas Powered Flamethrower.. Same With Current Chainsaw.
I'd Also like to be able to pour the gas from canisters into them to refuel.
If i Cant find fuel Before its empty.. i lose the weapon.
As For Melee Weapons I Want to see them slowly Bend, Twist & Break through usage.
Not Only Does This Feature Make Melee Weapons Temporariy..
It Makes you Cautious in how you use them.
Of course For Balance purposes Pistols can no longer have Endless Ammo
(But you should still have 6 or 7 extra clip)

Okay, this would be a major weapon change BUT...
I'd like to go up to gas cans and ammo piles and make molotovs and pipebombs. Implement something like the bandage bar where your character must work at it a bit.
I find it odd that you can walk by bottles and gas cans but cannot put them together.
Liquor stores/booze cabinets you sometimes see can be used as well.
If you kill a boomer with a headshot you can use him to make bile bombs.
AND you could carry 2 throw-able things to keep it from getting crazy.
I'd add in road flares. You could carry 3-5 of these. They would be throw-able and would be an alternate source of light.
However, the MAIN reason for them is as follows.
Chance how gas cans and propane cans explode.
If you look on youtube you see videos of people shooting cannisters of propane. If you notice there are two important parts.
#1 there must be an open flame nearby. Bullets alone won't start ANYTHING on fire. (unless you are using special incendiary rounds)
#2 when the propane tank is shot the burning gas acts like a rocket and the can goes flying.
I would LOVE to have gas cans that you shoot and they leak gas onto the ground but otherwise do nothing...until a flame is added. (flare, molotov). This would be great as you 'set up' to withstand some zombie attack, or just a spur of them moment 'cause mayhem maybe kill some extra zombies')
Propane tanks same thing, but in this case you'd have a fire going on them FIRST and shoot them second. (maybe you could even do a 'use' function with the propane tank like healing, but rather than bandaging you are duct-taping a lit flare to the side of the propane tank. Thrown when needed and have a buddy shoot it!)
BUT a propane tank would explode with great fury AND go flying off, bouncing around knocking down (and killing) zombies unlucky enough to be in it's path...maybe bang around an unlucky survivor from a bad bounce.

I Actually Like this Idea Being able to "pour" a gas trail, You can block of a horde attack.. By Barcading yourselves in a fire ring.
Which Isnt as Unbalanced as it sounds- A hunter/jockey can leap over the small flame ring, A charger would bowl right through it unphased.
A smoker Would Pull you through it, A spitter would force you to run out of it.
The Only thing You MIGHT keep at Bay is a boomer & normal common.
But then again the Boomer can blow itself up stagering players out of their fire barrier in boomer puke. And the Fire won't last extremely long.
Add this Idea with my being able to refill chainsaws and you gotta decide do you want Temporary Flame Wall Protection, Melee Refuel, Or a Tank Trap out of the Gasoline Jugs.
+1 to you steve
