tv missle timing
Last night, I noticed that the game was giving me a lot of time to adjust my tv missles on the way to the target.
Xav and I spent a whole round on kubra and it was one of the better rounds that I can remember.
One reason is that xav has the discipline to not crowd a target, he stays back at the outter limits of range giving the gunner plenty of time to get on target.
The second reason is that the game was giving me A LOT of corrections per second. Enough that vehicles were hiding behind a crane (for instance) and I had time enough to pass the crane, correct twice to the right and hit the target.
Do you all ever notice this? That at times, the missle is sluggish and will not correct in a timely manner no matter what you do. Other times the thing seems to give you all the time in the world and you can literally get in 10-12 course corrects culminating in absolute destruction of the hapless tank/helo/AA/ jeep/ sometimes people on foot?
That was a fun round, I went to bed afterwards to savor the moment.

Re: tv missle timing
That was good tvīing Clint but my flying was way off, we died way too many times (think like 6 times) caused by carelessness on my part.
But regarding the post, I think there are rounds when youīre "feeling" the tv and you can hit anything and other rounds where your tvs will "go right through the target" as weīve all heard everyone say sometime in their gunning career.
Itīs also important to have good chemistry with your pilot. You can have an experienced pilot but if he gives you angles youīre not used to, then itīll be difficult to hit something compared to someone that knows the way you gun. And in general, itīs important for the pilots to understand that you dont have to dive in for a target; you keep your distance, try to use the maximum range of the TV missile. This will reduce the threats that might shoot you down, and give your gunner more than enough time to adjust the tv missile to hit his target.

Hey Snipe...you are one of my top 10 pilot that I preferred. Just an FYI, your crosshair is 1/4" too high to the target because the TV box is about 1/2 to 1 inch too high for me. Adjusting that will really help with closer range targets.
Also, here is a tip...if your enemy's helo TV is out of range, it has 5 or 7 secs reload time (not sure which one is right, correct me if I'm wrong) have your pilot move closer within those seconds and take out your target before they get a chance to fire another TV at you.

THanks fisster...top 10
? I should be in top 5 at LEAST hahah...iīve been getting kinda sloppy with my flying recently cause iīve concentrated on flying the jet more. One other thing is weīve got alot of people that can fly jets well now, so itīs not as easy to fly the helo comfortably the whole round without being hounded by those damn jet guns.

Yea...I used to take out jets with the helo using regular missles all the time....just aim them head on to the incoming jet, lower your crosshair to 1/2-3/4" below or above...depending on where the jet is coming from, estimate your distance and fire away...eventually you'll get at least 4-6 missles hitting your target.

You are right on that part snipe. The hardest part for me was learning to estimate the distance to the target as well as learning how much to lead the target. The worst part is when you finally make it back to the carrier with 3 bars of health on the chopper just to get shot down on the back side of the carrier while repairing... That really gets you heated up LOL.
