Re: Comprehensive TACTICS
I know I should keep these "secrets" to myself, but they are just too good to share.
I've notice as a Sniper (I have Expert Sniper combat for proof in Texas Team Players), one of the ways to deploy more than (2) Claymores, is to first deploy the two Standard Marine Issue Claymores, then Simply kill another Sniper and deploy his (2) claymores. Notice that there are now (4) of your claymores on the ground in BIG REG SKULLS.
In conjunction with Nades, Pistol and knife (did I forget the Sniper rifle), you will be more than capable of eliminating an entire squad or more!
Thank you for your time and your claymores...

Re: Comprehensive TACTICS
Just FYI, that essex aa (aka phalanx) will shredd the living crap out of a jet if you aim right, and time it right. Ideally you want to surprise the jet right as he fly's over, so you have max exposure on him, fire the missles as hes flying away from you, not towards or they wont hit, now lead him with that gattling gun, it will do most of the dammage, now fire missles as he fly's away, you will do some dammage at least, if you dont kill him, get the hell off that thing... he'll probably be coming back, dont give him a free kill.
Here's the perk to doing this, if I'm in the F35 and you spot him as hes leaving, I'm going to intercept, if he has no flares... he's done. All AA is suplementary to good aircraft cover, if you got crappy aircover, the AA is going to turn into a "shoot here for two points" fest similar to a very lop sided game of whack a mole. think of aa as a method for taking pot shots at jets and helos, then getting the hell off of it before you get strafed.
One small note, the phalanx doesnt seem to do very well against attack helos, if you have nothing else use it, but just be aware that it takes alot of bullets to drop it and the missles slide right off the attack helo.

Re: Comprehensive TACTICS
I know what you mean kelderos, if you fly towards the the phalanx on the end and drop yeah youll be in a blind spot for the gunner, what I'm talking about is actually NOT being in it, only get in it after hes flown over, let him kill an empty AA, it just brings him inot a very vulnerable attack run, btw kel, how many times have you seen me gun down a j10, when im in a F-35, thats raping the carrier? it's a very novice tactic to use when flying a J-10 and lets me know my competition isnt well aware of the best method to employ his J-10. If you really want to do dammage with a J-10 or any other jet, you kill every thing that just leaves the range of the phalanx, constantly killing the phalanx is distracting and leaves you very, very vulnerable to other aircraft.
Personally I will wait and follow a J-10 to the carrier before engageing, when the phalanx forces him to drop his flares I continue following I use guns on him, many times they think it is the phalax shooting them and dont look back, after that if the guns didnt kill him, I wait until he realizes hes dammaged and then turns to head home, I lock him up and usually they think it's still the phalanx, all you have to do really is spam all six missles in him and hes done... this is why you see me avoid the carrier like the plague when I'm in a jet.

Re: Comprehensive TACTICS
Just a note on the range of the TV for the helos. I know this for Sharqi for a fact....have not tried it on the other maps. The range at Sharqi is 450m. As soon as you take off from the TV station on sharqi, watch your distance to the MEC copter and as soon as it says 450...shoot...then guide it all the way to the copter. When I say range....I am talking about the range it gives you to the flag. I have done this many times. I would go on a server that had no one playing on a Sharqi map....learn where the helo pad was in comparrison to the flag, and that would be my set up. So if you are the US helo you know that the helo for MEC is to the left of the flag. You can also do it in reverse....from the MEC side. The helo for the US is above the flag. So your set up would with the TV would be higher. Knowing this makes controling the missle easier. The same is true of the AA positions. If you know where they are in relation to the flag, then you can line them up before you actually see them. Then at 450 meters....shoot and suprise the hell out of them. Most of the time the opposing foe doesnt expect it and the great thing about the TV is that you are controling it's flight so if the opposing copter has lifted up....you can still get him. If you missed he usually wonders where the hell that missle came from and while he is looking for you, you may get another clean shot at him. The fun thing about the shot, you are shooting at something you cant see yet....just guide the missle to the target.
I havent tried this on other maps because they are different situations. Usually on Sharqi both helos are looking to meet each other to begin the game. Plus the distance to each helo pad is relatively close compared to other maps.
I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was!

Re: Comprehensive TACTICS
Sharqui is the one map I would rather choose NOT to fly on... The choppers just don't do that much in the urban environment. A good-formed squad is many times more deadly than a chopper and a good gunner on that map.
Both choppers on Sharqui are extremely vulnerable to one thing, besides eachother: .50 cals. I've ran around a map in a Humvee hunting the other team's choppers and just knowing where to wait. By the time they realize they're taking damage, and very fast, its too late to get a safe distance away or to kill me.
Also, one thing I've always wondered: Why does it take 3 anti-TANK rockets to take out a relatively weak-armored helicopter?
