04-28-08, 10:36 AM #1Not near as bad as I had hoped for.
So yesterday I see BD and sjt on the Conquest server. Since I have never had a chance to play with either of them other than one time BD was on the opposite side priming the Conquest server a while back, I decided to join in the fun. I joined the game mid second round on some map, so obviously the squad was full, so I joined another. It is the map where there is the tunnels and tower, sorry, bad with names, and we were attacking, but not very well. We ended up losing, but it was kinda close.
Next map, Bridge to Tarabithia or something similar, I get in the sjt/BD squad. We are attacking again, but not making any progress. I am not that good, but did try to spawn green, and stick with the SL as best as I could. Part of my problem is since I am new I don't have all the cool toys sjt kept asking everyone to throw around, so I just spawned medic and tried to keep people alive that did. Needless to say our squad did a few good things, but we lost.
Second round we are defending. BD is leading and tells us to spawn on one side of the bridge and defend there, as that is the key. We do this and lose the flag very promptly. We battle back, get to their main, really piss them off, but still lose.
We lost at least 3 rounds straight, the last two of which I was in a squad led by BD or sjt, and there was virtually no loving the whole time. I am beginning to wonder if all this "BD was loving me to hard" I see in the banned and admin abuse sections is a bunch of crap, because if ever there was a time for loving that was it.
Thanks guys, I had a blast, and hope to do it again if you will have me.

Hey, you popped me in the face a few times with that SCAR, I wouldn't say it was a complete loss. That Bridge to Tarabithia is a tough map, I've only ever seen the attacking team take the back base once. Good games, hope to see you on more often.

Isn't Bridge to Tarabithia a movie?
I think you guys are referring to Remagen...
Anyways, ...bigdog... isn't so bad. I actually like that he is so hard on his squadmates because it gives me a nice break from yelling. If I see a spot open in one of his squads and I'm not already leading a squad myself, I will usually hop in.
Come join me sometime Civil. I'll show you how to hike cross country.

Re: Not near as bad as I had hoped for.
you did fine, civil. Last night was prime time sunday nights, when a lot of big hitters are online. And conquest being 64 man now means you are always underfire, never get a break, have 10 seconds to set up your defense perimeter before the enemy comes back to take their territory.....it's rough.
I don't think I had to ban anyone last night.....so that makes it a pretty good night.
No....wait. I banned one fuck face, who shot me in the back of my APC with an AT rocket to "get my attention" as I drove away. Didn't say "wait pick me up". didn't say "I need a ride". Just took away 50% of my armor for the fuck of it.
Same old game as BF2, civil....just a different year, with snow, and cooler looking armor suits.
Be careful.....playing 2142 will make you switch over and want it full time.

Heya Civil For a good time, join a Frau squad wink wink...first time is free <snicker>
Good to see you ingame in any case. Sorry we busted yer balls those few rounds. I purposefully stayed in the backfield that one round on Bridge to try to do our best to contain the "woodie" injection. hehe sorry big/sj....I call it the "woodie" defense as my squadmates can attest to. On some maps, you have predictable hard ons This is just one of the many benefits of squadding with Big and SJ ....uhoh..I feel a ban coming on <ducks>
FrauOut!
Editied: Everyone should know that I am only teasing/taunting SJ & Big :P

That session was great. I was on both sides of the fight, due to a CTD issue part way through it.
Joined up with STJ and Bigdog as well which is a rare occurrence. There was one flag at the bottom of the map that the squad basically got on a defended a whole round. They were coming from every side. They were sent home dead.
Spent many rounds in the VTRX squad which is always a good coorinated effort. Spent a round or two with Frau.
All the rock stars were on there.
I got promoted as well (Chief Petty Officer). (still a boot I know)
Some of the big point awards are starting to come in and those make for a good round when you can get them.

I always know when laggy is on. I spawn titan half way through the round and see the hanger full, look at the player screen and yep there he is on the other team.
Laggy must have Viagra, cause his woodie would go away with no action from the whores.

When laggy is on a gunship rampage, he has to limit his sessions to 3 hours so he doesn't have to call his doctor if his woodie lasted any longer.
At any rate, I was on and at one point the admins went on a kicking spree for unsquadded folks during Sidi, but I don't recall seeing a lot of that going on. Lots of close, hard-fought battles last night.
2142 is slightly more balanced than BF2, but the mechanics of the game are basically the same. I've been splitting my time between both games and I've found both equally rewarding. It's the regs and admins that make the TTP experience as good as it is.
