Is anyone at all like me in thinking that the entire battlefield series HIGHLY favors pilots?

(4)manno and sopek in the air tonight practically single-handedly (the both of them) caused multiple losses for the other side.

The last map I played (Dalian I think) was where I called it a night. Manno and Sopek took 132 points between the two of them. The closest person on their own team was half their score (30 something). My team combined didn't take much more points than those two combined, and we couldn't hold a single flag for more than 30 seconds or so. I take nothing away from the pilots because to be a GOOD pilot takes more practice than *I* have ever had the patience to undertake. And to be an insanely good pilot like those two must be a full time job.

But when you are on the other end of those guns/missiles, the game just isn't all that much fun any more. And even if you are on the winning side it's not all that much fun knowing you are going to win just because a couple of ace pilots are on your team.

I knew it was going to be bad when I saw "You were killed by (4)manno"... But then I heard one of my squad members go "oh christ, sopek is in the air". Sigh...

Oh well. There's always another day I guess. I'm just going to cross my fingers and pray for bad weather to ground the pilots when I get back on.

These guys can be and have been stopped on many occasions. We pretty much shut Sopek down on DragonValley today.. kept them confined to the Carrier the entire game.

Adapt your strategies. Walk don't ride. Avoid the airbases. Cap flags. Stay out of the air. Hop on AA guns only after the hostile aircraft has passed, squeeze of two shots, then hop off. If they are in choppers, learn to use the SRAW. Get on that .50. Stay out of open areas. Or learn to fly better than they can.

The Dalian map you were referring to tonight was a little worse than usual. Not to take anything away from (4)manno. They pinned us first at South Flag. North was capped to only stay up a few minutes. I capped warehouse and no one spawned on it and that flag was up about 30 seconds. Looked like 85% of our side was completely new people to the server who evidentially liked 1 man squads, not working together or a shocker,,using voice...very frustrating..but that is the way it goes sometimes.

They were basically shooting fish in a barrel.

The players you listed are absolutely top-of-the-line players. Do you think they can only kill you in the jet? Would you rather have them ground-pound against you? They know the game inside and out and will make you pay to remember it. Like Asian said, the best you can hope for against these players is to avoid or retard them .. unless you get a squad of equally badass ground-pounders

i would agree that the BF series helps protect pilots by not allowing for any real defense in the form of AAA for the grunts. The pilots here are very good....but I agree that seeing someone go 50-0 or 50-3 in a round just chaps my ass when I bust myself all round only to have 50%-75% of my deaths come from something I have limited ability to defend against. A chopper I can deal with but the fast movers reign near-supreme if your pilots blow chunks. I do laugh when the score comes at the end and some would go 30-1 or something in a jet but have (-) teamscore points.......BUT.....

....I did shoot down a jet with a Eryx......one time

yes the reason they know how to fly is practice...but is that all they do...no. Before I knew how to fly I was a ground poundin fool and got pissed because of the air whores. well i got tired of them repetitively killing me so i took the pilots seat. Was not pretty at all. After months of practice (and was not non stop) i became pretty decent at it. But really what i am trying to say is that flying is not all that we can do.
