Thanks, and a little introduction
Hello all,
I just got back into BF2 this past weekend after a long break... and while stumbling through the server list (All my old favorites were obsolete.) I happened across a server called "Texas Teamplayers" and figured... can't hurt, and maybe ill get lucky and they mean it. I hopped into the first squad I saw which happened to be lead by a fellow with the {HRD} tag and was blown away by the ability for him to lead the 6 man squad almost anywhere. During that time I saw quite a few people removed for 'lone wolfing' about and was just amazed on how active the admins were at keeping the philosophy of the servername intact. I spent quite a bit of time on that server that day and had the most fun in BF2 Ive had since the old clan matches a couple years ago. I figured today I would hop on and convey my thanks the best I could (with $$$) and noticed the reserved slots link and figured... I'm gonna be spending most of the time with these guys anyways, might as well app for the slot. Anyone on the server that day would recognize me by the name [LGN]>DG<Matthewx. Thanks for running a fine BF2 server guys/gals!
~Matthew

Matthew,
Welcome to the last server/community you will ever need to find. We have a great group of admins/reservists/regulars here that all work together to play the game the way it was intended. Good luck on your reserve slot. Feel free to browse around, and I am sure you will see many of the names here that you saw on the server.
As for those {HRD} guys, they are ok sometimes.

Thanks for the warm welcome
. I usually run TS instead of the in-game chatter, but playin in the squad on Sunday got me tryin to get the in-game setup... which my computer wants to be fussy with. Vista recognizes my mic on the front port of my computer... but the game does not. Guess that just means I need to go buy that cool new Bluetooth headset I had my eye on!

What sound card are you using? If you're using onboard audio, many times the front port won't work properly even though it says it recognizes your mic. Try plugging the mic into the microphone port on the back of the computer, and run that BF2 audio setup wizard. Also make sure you're using the latest audio drivers for your chipset.

Re: Thanks, and a little introduction
I plugged the mic into the front port and was able to get sound recorder to hear me... as well as Vista's utility. I haven't tried plugging it into the back (on board sound from an nVidia 680i chipset) because I just used a cheap mic I had lying around to try to get me up and running temporarily and didn't want to drop game. I have my headset plugged into my laptop which I use for TS so I can have the game in full surround at a much higher volume (I don't like getting knifed while sniping)... Ill get it running tonight before I hop in-game though... chatting > typing.

Re: Thanks, and a little introduction
Matthewx, welcome and it's about damn time.... I hate to think of all the hours you've wasted on other non-Texasteamplayers servers.
The admins here are top notch and are always on the ball, but the Regulars too deserve some credit for keeping this Team Player Environment alive and well, as we Regulars on a daily basis keep an eye on all the players on the server. If someone is acting up, then you best believe that "we" will get it handle. We take our Team Player very serious here at Texasteamplayers.com.
Sign up for one of the Monthly matches, and you'll see some great battles with some great players.
Again, welcome!
