Thread: 2142 1.5 Patch News?

I want some.

I've been all over the EA forums this morning, and can't find anything. We know EA finished the beta on the 16th, so in the next week or so, we should be looking for the release - I bet.

If you hear anything, let us hear about it.

I hope so. 1.4 Beta was out for a long time before the release. Is there a reason why you think 1.5 won't take as long. Man you are making my day.

No, I just think they always release at the worst times, the times when our server hosts are all at home or on vacation, making our job in patching the servers all the more difficult....like 7:00pm CST on a holiday weekend.

It's a cynical thought, but it's happened before.

You're right about 1.4 PASHA, and I'd rather they wait and get it right, but since when have they done something smart like that?

I will be grateful if they don't make it worse somehow.

Nope - You'd have to reinstall...although installing the game uunder two directories, I guess is possible, but I bet that wreaks havoc on something EA related...

If you go beta, you have to start over if you want to uninstall.....I'd bet heavily on it.

I thought I would avoid that if I installed both copies and only patched one. The possibility of installing both copies and allowing them to function separately alone seems far fetched, let alone patching one and not the other.

you may run into a problem in the registry. seems that EA stuffs some shiz in there at these locations:
HKLM\Software\EA GAMES
HKLM\Software\Electronic Arts
HKCU\Software\Electronic Arts

if you look, you'll see some things like client version and installation paths. you could export them into a .reg file, and change them out each time you play the different versions i guess. good luck.

Pasha I'm willing to try it with you and go see if we can find some good news to report from the 1.5 beta servers.

I don't know what else to do, there are no other games out there that can give me my teamplay fix like 2142 does.
