Quick new guy question

I see the server name says "BF2142 Conquest Ranked". I know, obviously, what the "Ranked" part means, however, is "BF2142 Conquest" some sort of expansion pack or is it simply a gametype that ttp plays exclusively for this one particular server?

Just FYI, I bought the regular version yesterday, so depending on the answer I get here, I'll be on a little later tonight.

Conquest is a game set... basically one team vs another team, cap the points and bleed the tickets till you win. Basically they're NON-Titan games.

Think BF2...

Amen to that.. I could play Titan all day, but I get bored with conquest after a few maps.

Having played 2142 since the beginning, and played 2142 on TTP for 6 months now or so... Titan is MUCH more fun when you can maneuver the titan around the map rather than it being static. Unfortunately, EA/DICE have never fixed the problem of lag associated with moving titans. Without moving titans, it pretty much plays like conquest.

No it is not, like everyone said it is the famous gamemode iconic to the BF series. But there is an expansion pack that is in both servers, northern strike, can be bought on the EA link or if you got the deluxe 2142 edition, it is only $10 and is worth it, new weapons, unlocks, and vehicles, and maps.

Titan is cool, but it can never defeat the intensity of conquest. But whatever server you want to join, I'll come in and help, just name a time and place and I'll get in there.

Try commanding. One go commanding Gibraltar will probably take you through the first several promotions. Hello 180+ point commander bonus score! :10

I actually was very fond of commanding when I play(ed) bf2. In fact I think I talked too much when I did.

quick tip for commanding: BF2 arty and 2142 arty is MUCH different. 2142 arty comes in 2 seconds, is very ineffective away from the center, needs to be pinpoint accurate, always zoom in when shooting, use it on large patches of infantry or to get rid of a walker or something that is causing your team harm. Tips for taking down a walker in the commander seat: Always hit him with and empstrike and THEN and orbital strike(arty). Titan mode does not have arty, the titan is supposed to be mobile arty but causes too much lag when it moves, so IE the move titan command doesnt work on TTP.

The arty is not ineffective. Granted it might not kill everyone in the patch. But it sends everyone running for cover and disrupts any plan of attack.
