Wake Island: How to deal with defending a corridor/core
With wake island as you all know you have to defend both sides not just the front; so today my squad and I came up with a new strategy to defend that corridor/core.
Basically the corridor is set up in 2 'stations' where you hold them back. In this titan defence it is always best to have 4 supports and 2 medics, 2 supports at each station. What a station is is an area of defence, what we did that round was set up 'station 1' at the 1st bulkhead and 'station 2' at the 4th bulkhead(4th or 5th whichever you SL wants), we had infantry radars set up and watched which direction they came from switching from station to station calling out station 1(front) or station 2(back) whereever needed.
Overall it was a great defence and setup correctly can hold them back, but without recon holding back a rush it is unstable but unlike titan mode conquest assault is about takeing down the tickets, so it doesnt matter if you fail after awhile, you took down many for your one life.
I didnt go into that much detail because I dont have the time but that is my Wake Island defence, use it wisely :9

Actually, BigDog came up with that tactic when he was commanding and I was squadleading the first time I played on Wake right after the patch.
The strategy actually works best if the SL is support, and he uses the gun drone with the sentry and sonar. This effectively means the SL can watch the forward part of a lower corridor just fine. We didn't need no stinkin' recon either. Just rockets, nades, and bullets, lots of bullets.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Point 3 is the important one to your question. Because the force fields are turned off the attackers can land/pod/jump down into the normally protected control area. Also they can run thru the undefended corridors and attack you from the normally safe back side thus making you defend 2 directions at once.

I think that the major difference is that they can come in from either end.
Since it's worth so many flags, I'd say that it's probably worth having a second squad there, one to cover the rear, one to cover the front.
Also, I always have trouble shaking the idea that a lost core is the end of the game. If you think that you're in danger of losing the core, put a beacon up by the Titan AA guns so that you can flip it back quickly if you do lose it.
