Thread: Hit it with the spice weasel, BAM!

Well since Redeye is calling out the people reading the thread .

Based on a very similar post by laggy, a while back, this is what I have been doing.

1.)If I join a game mid round and there is no commander I immediately apply even before spawning for the first time.

2.)If I am going to be playing more than one round or two rounds in an evening I make sure I command at least one.

3.)If I am in a squad and notice after a few minutes into a round that we do not have a commander I apply.

The only time I break these rules is if there is a good possibility I will have to leave before the round ends. No one likes a commander who puts together a strategy and then bails on you. If all the regs did this we would never be without a commander.

Oh and btw, I am a shitty commander so be warned. But I do use my mic and I try so be nice!

Had some great rounds commanding on tampa and makeing bigdog sceam(or so we thought). Had some great fun and a close rounds, I even got some titan offence in as commander . Still I wonder why I'm the only one willing to run in there and blow myself up.

thing of how many awards you're denying yourself by NOT commanding. The points are super easy when you have competent squad leaders around. hell, the competent ones may even set their own orders as they go and you still benefit.

The only way to get past sucking is to actually do it. Hell, Frag is what, 15? He got it down cold. Can't remember the 12 year old players name at the moment (Kyle perhaps?), but he came in w/o having much time as a player and he got it down as well.

Spending time as a commander makes you appreciate what the commander is going through and the next time you're a squad leader, you have a better understanding of how to become more successful as a team. Until then, you THINK you know what the commander is going through and he's just whiney when he says he needs help in the back base.

Mutiny votes? If you're doing your job, laugh at the idiot. Bad commanders always get my support. The only thing I ask is you try. even if you're a silent commander (no mic) if you're trying, I'm going to support you. We've actually had quite a few good silent commanders. But this is the training ground to become the commander, not those other servers where you have to sacrifice a small animal and read the entrails to see if people are going to follow orders. Hell, frequently I offer my services to the commander and let them know that if they have a prob with squads not following orders I'd be MORE than happy to assist them.

Give it a shot Glitch. Besides, think about it. On conquest maps, your K/D ratio can go much in the right way. Standing back and making it rain on other people. My best was like 31 kills with orbitals in a round on Gibraltar. Your K/D ratio also goes up if you help man the titan guns on titan mode.

I really have no interest in being Commander. We are better off with no commander than having me as one. That way someone else that wants the job can step up and take it. Hell I get more stress from being a squad leader than I reallly want. At least as a squad leader you don't have to put up with Mutiny Votes constantly if you suck (or even if you don't most times)

I have no interest in squad leading either. I hate it, like I said above. My commander stats are more than pathetic.

But we have to consider what we are doing to other people by being selfish and not doing it. It is a wake up call for me as well as you, and others.

Suck it up, step up for ONE ROUND.

Many people are getting criticized all around this community for failing to step up and be true teamplayers.

Many of us are guilty.
