Decency problem on Titan server

I will say, Rottn, that I enjoyed heartily the other day when you lined youself up perfectly to hit me whilst I was walking, and allowed me a most excelent opportunity to shoot you with my Pilum, while at the same time another guy in my squad (I forget his name cuz I'd never seen him before) was bringing his SAAW to bear. He got credited for the kill, but it was definately one of my favorite kill assists to date. Needless to say, we patted eachother on the back for a lovely tag-team gunship takedown. Not often I get to take down a gunship with a Pilum

.. I forget what the name of the map is, but it was on the titan server and was an NS map.

Yeah, that was on Bavaria, and no one spoke up to gun for me. I must have knocked down 20 or 30 bailers that round, and with no gunner it was kind of annoying. That's actually the round that sparked this thread.

So, I ran a few rocket passes- Every once in while I have to remind myself why it's not worth trying to rocket infantry by eating a pilum or SAAW... :5

On on Bavaria, it's not even worth trying to splatter anyone on the windshield, because of all the damn cliffs and trees.

The good news is I had like 25 gunship kills as a solo pilot, and maybe 3 or 4 deaths, so it wasn't too bad. Glad to have helped give you a fun kill though- hopefully you'll return the courtesy one of these days!

Folks, flying a gunship is hard work, with walkers, AA, and SAAW user's (trained by the legendary Laggy, who used to be a resident of these parts) all over the place. Worse, those SAAW's in particular can be *anywhere* rendering the entire battlefield an unfriendly place to the peace-loving gunship pilot.

Occasionally, through all of this firepower trained against him, the intrepid and noble gunship pilot manages to line up a transport, get into a firing position, and even maybe score a few hits.

So, imagine my shock and dismay when those cowardly transport crews simply abandon their transports instead of bravely attempting to evade, or shoot me down! Do realize how much the taxpayers spent on those high-tech machines that you are discarding??

C'mon, I'm probably terribly wounded already, you might as well finish me off with those door-guns! That's what they're for, after all, right? Think of how empowering it will be...

And if, and the end of the day, I have out-shot you, the noble thing to do is go down with your ship. I mean, really, who wants to walk all the way back to civilization? Think of how much time you waste when you could have died like a hero and respawned already?

So, let's get a few more heroic deaths from you air transport folks! Thirty-five heroic deaths in a round, to be precise!

You know, some gunship gunners having been bailing on their pilots when I've started shooting recently. The last time I was on, it saved the gunships for about as long as it took me to reload. The reason being that my second missile kept hitting the gunner after he bailed. It was cracking me up. Hell, I've even taken to flying the gunship myself recently; without Laggy to shoot me down, who's going to be able to stop me except for those light posts?

Of course, I actually have to catch you in game at the same time I am in order for that to happen... Dunno HOW I've managed to STILL never have met you in game.

I see we've never meet as apposing gunship pilots. I assure you that you had better have your seat belt tightened and your trays folded in the upright position if you plan on surviving a dog fight

I've actually been able to play without squad leading and/or commanding. I've been knocking gunships down again. Nothing like I used to, but its still quite enjoyable.

ha what we need to do now is get a loaded transport with saaws and light up the gunship and when there shield goes up the gunners have free reign cause you can shoot throw the sheild still after they said they fixed it. all turrets can shoot throw a gunship shield and almost everything can shoot throw a transport shield but that is why the engineers fix the transport and the support and medic get all the heal and supply points they can want

Actually, for the way you got me, pilum or default rockets are the way to go- I nail a lot of gunships coming straight in with the default rockets because they don't have the long lock-on delay, and it's a one-shot kill. Too often when I'm running with the SAAW I'll get that first missile off and be dead before it hits. The SAAW wins when they don't see you, though.

I should warn you that I know when to bail, and a specialty of mine is bailing out at the last second to fire a volley at your ship.
