Thread: OMG guys. You dont understand.

Well, this is a tough one. I was commander of my own squad and they left when I took the heli up to a building for recon and sniping useage. Stupid teammates said, why the f*ck did you have to park that all the way up there. Well I did ask if anybody on our squad and team if they wanted it but nobody said anything, so I took it and used it for my personaly use. Before I could say, "Guys just take it and do what ever you want with it. Theres no need to parachute down to the bottom. Its right there." They left. But some other people stayed with me. A little bit later and our Commander leaves with out telling us so I took resopsibilty of it. Right as I joined, the people of my squad that left put me up for a vote so they could get rid of me. Well, what are you going to do with out a commander. So I wasent demoted, I was just pissted that they say that I dont understand, but its them-selfs. Then they start bitching about my commanding. Well nobody else went up for it so I took responsablity for it and we won. If only one squad would listen to me, besides my own. But, is it me or is it them? What do you think? Tell me what you think about this problem I had. Was it right or was it wrong. Was it their stupid mistake not to take the heli and parachute down or my mistake not leave it down at the pad cause nobody said any about if they wanted it when I asked? Tell me.

uh... by "heli" I assume you mean transport?

Yes i do. I just call Heli for short.

Don..I know you are new to this server...so the first thing you have to understand is that we are all about team play. I am not sure what map you were on when this happen.....but if this was an attack helo that you took for your own personal use....that was a mistake.

The attack helo is an important arsenal toward winning games.

If it was a Blackhawk or a enemy transport helo....taking it for you own personal use is not good either. If you are the squad leader....setting up shop as a sniper on top of a building is the last thing you want to do. You need to be hard charging toward getting flaggs. Snipers sitting onthe top of a building has never helped win games.....they are just a nusiance.

It was good you decided to command....that was your team play....and the fact that you won as a commander is good as well. Do not worry about people putting up votes to get rid of you.....happens all the time and to some of the best commanders on the server.

In the future I would be leary of taking any attack aircraft for your own personal use....just friendly advise.

One question I might have is.. what are you doing sitting and sniping as an SL? You should be leading your squad, setting up a beacon, etc.  Have someone ELSE in your squad pull the overwatch position from the building... Or set up a squad beacon ON the building so that someone else may use the transport if they need to.  But as an SL (and keep in mind, this is my personal opinion of SLing.. other's feel they can SL from afar, and I guess if they can keep a coherent squad while leading from a distance, more power to em), it's my feeling that you need to be there with your squad, giving them direction. Perhaps that's why your SMes were leaving? Because you were too busy looking down the scope of a sniper rifle, racking up the kills for your next ribbon/medal, instead of taking charge of your squad?


Edit, BlueMax.. he was doing it in 2142 (the transports are also spawn points), but what you said still applies.

Also...If you were commander (And there was not a really small number of players on the team((and by small I mean 8 or 10 total on the server))) you should NEVER be fighting. Your job is to command the other squad leaders not camp and snipe. Even if you won this is not an acceptable method of teamplay and could lead to you being kicked or even banned.

Which I think I may have even called you out for one time a week or more ago... I thought your name looked decidedly familiar (but I could also be wrong).. Perhaps this is why you were getting mutiny votes?

The map was Bridge at Ramegan and we were on the offensive side (EU). You were trying to get us to defend West Bridgehead (which no enemies were at) when we were holding all the way up to East Bridgehead and some of flags deeper towards their base.

The ONLY reason I can possibly see giving out an order to abandon the ground we have fought and won for was because you, the commander, had set up a sniper spot on top of one of the buildings outside West Bridgehead and wanted to see some action. The order made no sense at all. My squad leader made it apparent to me that you were not really doing your job as commander so we put up a mutiny vote.

Maybe there was a misunderstanding and you could have explained to the squad why you wanted to abandon our forward advantage. Likely the whole situation and mutiny could have been avoided that way. I wouldn't know what was (or wasn't) said because I was not in a squad leader position at the time.
