    Norton AntiVirus 2008

I just downloaded this software and now I can't seem to access the main BF2 server. Any ideas?

If it's Norton, chances are that you have to disable it before trying to connect. I'd wait for the opinion of some of our more tech oriented members first though.

You can just exit out of Norton (right click the Norton symbol in the System Tray on the bottom right and click exit), BUT only do this while playing BF2. If you want to DL something or go browsing on the Internet, start up Norton again.

I would not disable it. I would however go to the permissions section and allow BF2 to access the internet. Look this up in Nortons help section or Norton web help.

It may be asking you if you wish to let BF2 access the internet. Hold down control and esc so bf2 minimises at the splash screen and seen if there is a dialogue box. Hope this helps

sorry forgot were it is as I have not used nortons for a year.

millwall is correct. You need to go into your Norton firewall and allow BF2 to access the internet.

    Re: Norton AntiVirus 2008

I would uninstall norton IMMEDIATELY and get something else. Norton is notorious for disallowing stuff even when you allow it... disallowing stuff when you've shut the firewall down... and even hosing up networking entirely even after uninstall. I've had to fix dozens of systems because of this. You couldn't pay me enough to run Norton's internet suite.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
