Thread: Poll: What would your ideal 2142 map mode configurations be for the servers?

Changed my vote. I like the idea of a Top 7 since the Top 5 felt as if it was to short of a rotation.

If we decide not to go with the server being a Top 7, would it be possible if we could RE-vote on the Top 5 maps every so often?? Since Top 7 may be out of the question for the amount of time it would take to run through all of them.

Your math is off. Each Map would take 1 hour 20 minutes if it ran the full the 40 per Round. However, most rounds only last 20-30 minutes (when server is full and going good)...so let's say 1 hour a map, you are still looking at 5 hours, maybe a little under. So making it 7 maps would add 2-3 hours depending on population.

I think you forgot that each map is 2 rounds.

I once worked in a grocery store as a kid. They'd pump shitty music through the store all day, on a loop that was a little longer than my 8-hour shift. Although I didn't hear any repeats during my day, by the end of the summer, the loop was so well established in my brain that I'd start hearing the next song in my head while the current one was playing.

Although I find 2142 maps a bit more pleasant than menopause-friendly easy listening music, the same principle holds. It's nice to mix it up a bit, and it wouldn't hurt to be able to play on a server two nights in a row and not hit all of the same maps each night.

Even if it were all the maps (oh wait, we have that!) you are still going to end up playing the same maps as long as you play during the same time everynight. The order is the order and while it might update once a month throughout that month I am willing to bet you that someone will come in here and complain about some map or ask if we can up date the maps on the rotation...

Ah shewt! Thanks Angel, I did leave out 2 rounds per map.....
and yes someone will come in and ask if the maps could be changed around or put in different maps.

The question I have would be....Would we consider changing the maps rotation or the maps in play every month or 3 months? Or at least run a vote on NEW most popular maps, since that song tends to be getting old theory kicks in.
