Thread: I want to get back into BF2142. Need a few pointers.

Okay, I haven't played the game consistently since May 2007, and I know there have been some changes since then. I like BF2 more, but BF2142 is still fun to play because of the different guns and gadgets, as well as the cool hover vehicles (Hachimoto was so fun to use, until your gunner hit you out with a grenade :P.) But the problem is, I bought Northern Strike a day or two after the release, but now EA has done away with there EA link/Downloader program, so how do I download NS with out having to pay $10 again(I am also having a problem with Armored Fury in BF2 which was released in the same fashion, so you could save me $20 potentially). I know you guys have the NS maps on the main server, and Leipzig was my favourite map. I also liked Regeman as long as it wasn't the 64 player, and Bavaria had its moments once the EU team breaks the outer defenses.

Also, I know a few maps were released since May 2007, like Highway Tampa and Wake Island, are the new maps included in the patch downloads, or do I have to find a place to download them separately. And what number is the most recent patch? Any help will be much appreciated.

1.5 is the latest release. You might need to DL 1.4 with Highway Tampa before patching to 1.5. I would suggest you check out EA's website and you should be able to find out.

There have been a few people in the same boat as you with the NS. I'm not certain there was ever a way to get out of paying for it again...though I'm not 100% on this. Hopefully if anyone figured a way around that they will post.

EA Link = EA Downloader. It's still there, because I just DLed BF2 from it.

Re-download the Downloader and log in with the email address you used to be the expansion packs. EA holds onto download data for two years and no more. It should still be there.

Actually, I found the old setup.exe for both Armored Fury and Northern Strike on an old computer. : D
