I'd rather not like to think about all the kills that have gotten away from because of this. It seems like BF2 has a habit of allowing you to hit your opponent enough to put them near death, and then somehow miss untill your reloading...and dead.
I used to be an old pro at BF2, but I retired several months ago to pursue other battles.... COD4!

If you use the G36c correctly and efficeintly, you can kill between 4-6 players PER CLIP..... using one to two burst per enemy. If you hit him solid, rest assured that by the end of the second burst, you opponent will be dead. I so good at it, that I could start running away, before the enemies body hit the ground..... just cause I was that confident about the weapon and it's capabilties.

    Good luck!
you talking about cod4 right now? if cod4 yes i can see it, but in BF2 no way unless you have godly aim
I have "Godly" aim, used to be 25% Accuracy, till I screwed it up by using a default weapon for my TWL training..... dropped it to 24% as a result.

Click on my stats for a better view.... and we're talking about BF2.

I don't know about BF2 but in 2142 with the Assualt weapons I aim for chest/neck area and burst once, let the recoil take it up to the head and I'm gone before they even know I shot at them. So basically what he's saying. It's possible with little aiming required.

I do the same with the Lambert Carbine for the recon (2142). The recoil pretty much takes it straight up.. the gun's burst pattern is so tight that you can lay down a hail of bullets and unzip em from the neck up.

Same for the AT stock weapons in BF2.. they're a little less tight on the pattern, much weaker, and slower, but you can get a pretty good cluster at the upper chest, neck and head without zooming. You just gotta be wary if they have the DAO

Unlike to what manno said I'm surprised with the results of this thread. When I first started BF2 I shot exclusively with the ironsights, no matter the distance, its the way I learned so I just assumed its the way everyone else plays. Guess not eh?

The only place you really need to use iron sights all the time is in PR. Vanilla.. not so much

    Re: Firing From The Hip

You guys got me thinking. For some reason, i tend to ignore the little cross hairs in the middle of the screen. I almost always pull up and aim, even in close quarters combat. I also tend to go prone on instinct, a bad habit i know. It may be a hold over from my PR time where you have to pull up and aim. I have found myself firing blindly like a wildman with the DAO12 or SK12, but not with rifles, or machine guns.

There are a few times when i was jumped as a sniper, or rounded a corner to see a half dozen enemy charging in my direction, and just shot a reactionary round off from the hip killing one of the foes before getting slaughtered.
