Thread: Vanilla server

Here's my opinion on this.


First off, I want to say Thank You to the people that are working their asses off, doing voluntary work to make these servers running for the public, clans, etc... Your work is much appreciated!

As a server admin myself, the most important part when you have a new server is to prime it. There's no doubt at all. You need dedicated people to prime a server, a lot of hours and making a server enjoyable to play in, that people want to come back to. They need testing to make sure everything is working fine.

Now that people are testing and priming the Top 5 server (which is good of course), but now the regular server BF2 Ranked is left behind which is not good. The regular server needs testing too if I recall well with the changes made recently with the regular server. (Hope I did recall this well, if not I blame it on my age :P).

Now the BF2 Ranked server needs attention too which is not having for the past few days. I noticed some players would rather play all maps...; so my suggestion is to have half the players on Top 5 and half on the BF2 Ranked server and then you will see both of them get filled up or close to it, then both servers are active and that's where you are able to test them better and have more people joining the servers.

I've been monitoring both servers since. 58 players on Top 5 and 0 in BF2 Ranked. Now, people need to pay attention on that. If you have 40 on Top 5 and 16 on BF2 Ranked, go to the Ranked server or vise versa. Try to monitor and arrange it that both servers are equal as player count.

PBS: If most of the regulars will turn their attention back to the regular server then I see the Top 5 going back to 0 players just because it's happening right now on the regular server.

Vanilla keeps kicking me for a very high ping, yet top 5 rocks.......hmmm feedback, testies if you will.

This is true. I can't connect to Vanilla. I keep getting kicked for a 300-500 ping. When i check the ping with tab, it goes from 23 to 1023 and stays there.

A few of us were priming it earlier in the night, then everyone left so we hit Top5, after 3 go arounds onthe same taps...I tried to switch back over. Just to practice flying. I can't even walk around, i get kicked.

O well, i'll see you guys tomorrow.

HAHA! Maybe it seems not normal for you to see women playing BF2 and online fighting games as well! Oh God I have sinned again!! You better get used to it my friend!

Can an admin verify that the Vanilla server is being worked on? Its been out of service for a week now. =(
