Thread: Account server?

Forgive me if this is posted somewhere else, I look a brief look around and in the stickies and found nothing of the sort.

I tried to hop on BF2 today and I can't seem to connect to the account server. I get stuck at that loading screen while logging in for quite some time before it lets me into the server browser window... After a while it lets me in with some message about being unable to connect to the account server but I couldn't see any regular BF2 games... my favorites list has our PR server shown as up and running but the regular server appeared down to me.

I tried to manually find it and wound up staring at a refreshing server list screen for around 10 minutes before I got fed up with this.

Googling around I'm finding people talking about server maintenance on Monday/Tuesday but nothing really touching on this occurring during the weekend. What gives?

Before anyone asks, yes BF2 is allowed through my firewall and I have also tried it with turning off the firewall... no dice.

I was just playing a month or so ago too... same settings and all.

I see you have a xfire logo under your name, so why are you loading into BF2, and using its crappy server browser? Xfire is the way to go when browsing/launching into servers, let xfire log you into the account server, who knows it may even fix your problem.

As for not seeing in the TTP server in the BF2 server broswer, are you patched to 1.41? Thats the only thing I can think of, if your seeing other servers and not the TTP ones. Oh and maybe your looking for the old IPs?

Anyways I thought I saw a QuickLightning in the regular server earlier today, so maybe you've fixed the problem.

I used direct connect by IP to get in once I passed the account server thing... but it still is taking a good 15 minutes or more to tell me it can't connect to the master account server or something along those lines. I took a shower, ate a little snack and came back before it let me in.
