Hacks and cheats... Unbelievable

I have just spent a few minutes looking at You Tube and what I saw was truly disheartening. The pervasiveness of hacks and cheats is mind boggling. I don't know which disgusts me more, the cheaters or the in your face pride they take in cheating. I must say that until I watched these videos, I was unaware of some of these cheats, and now I recognize some things that I definitely encountered. First that comes to mind is the nametag cheat, I often cussed and wondered how someone could simply step around a corner and know exactly where to aim and shoot before I had time to react, even when facing the direction they came from. And the aim bots... I will look upon knifers with a new level of suspicion. I am left wondering how anyone, or any server can protect themselves against these low lifes, obviously PB isn't very effective. I know every on-line game is subject to unscrupulous characters who are more adept at ruining gameplay for others, than they are at becoming a good player. I certainly have run into my share of them over the years. It just seems to me that technology of today should be able to defeat these worms, and I'm curious why it hasn't yet. I choose to play on-line games fairly and honestly, as I believe it makes me the better participant. In games I choose not to declare someone a cheat without definite proof, until now I was not sure what was or wasn't a cheat, but I'm learning. I haven't been on-line lately as I overclocked my gaming rig into a smoking heap... but replacement parts are en-route. I think the length of this entry should make up for my lengthy silence. Welcome back, and yes, quite a few gamers hack. They get hammered here and not with booze if you get my drift.

The best part is when they get caught. I've often read "hacker" forums from time to time to keep up to date on what is out there and what to look for. Nothing makes me smile more than seeing lots of users that have paid for these abilities getting VAC banned.

Ragun don't forget that 2142 has infantry sonar and temporary wall hacks built into the game. I love nothing more than stepping around a corner and unloading into the face of the person trying to sneak by.

and with us using PB streaming bans, oh that's such a lovely thing since we started using that program... people coming in that were banned on other servers for hacks getting canned here *sly grin*

2 things

1. People who take pride in hacking and pirating crap should be thrown into a wood chipper

2. It's youtube, it has everything except porn on there.

was commanding on tunis harbour tonight .
all i can say is that my team got wiped .
had 3 squads screaming at me to find out who was in our base , base raping our ass .
there was no one with in killing distance .
but there all dying around me .
no where was safe to take cover .
sat tracs and uav showed up no one who could get kills in range we was at .
spent a couple more games tonight till wife banned me .
and all i no is i see kills at times from people that should not happen .
shot one person 7 times with shotgun no more than 20 feet , to get shot back at once and i died .
and my sqaud member soon followed .
taking my self off for the night .
ok i aint wife banned me .
i jsut like to think that i said i going so sleep .
not that she banned my ass .

Definitely the egregious hack I've run up against are the aimbots. Go to a certain server on any given day and they'll be there.

Punkbuster is clearly no help, but there is one thing I've seen as the greatest antidote against cheaters: a wise admin.
