BF2 practice server
now that's interesting, icecold.....
we probably should password it, so only TTP reg's that actually come by and use the forums will use it.....people that will fit in, and not be abusive to those learning to play.
And hell.........clans could use it as teaching tools....have sniper school, helo school, tank school, rape nyquile school......you know....the usual.

yeah i've had my share of the raping that's for sure! but ya know, give a little get a little i guess.
It would just be great where folks could come in, have the squads arranged by topic, and allow others to join and teach a small class of 5 how to do things like:
drive a vehicle like a sane person
fly a helicopter properly
fly a jet properly
understand the essentials of cover and concealment
identifying the enemy
reading HUD instrumentation
switching views
using your coms
rigging up C4 without wasting it
sliding down slopes without getting your ass busted
mountain climbing
popping smoke in a tank (yes, i saw a post here where someone didn't know that was a feature of the armor units)
and perhaps my favorite
kicking ass and chewing bubble gum when you are all out of gum.
i love to teach. i love to learn. i'd really like to learn more on bombing and flying. i can direct air traffic pretty strategically from the ground (provided the pilot is cooperating), but i could use some refinement on landing bombs right where i want them.
helo's on the other hand i can do with no probs.
my area of expertise is primarily ground forces. there are powerful units in the game. there are powerful weapons in the game. but the most powerful and most destructive force is a squad who works together and communicates together - and that's where it should all begin in my opinion.
bf2 is perhaps the finest computer game in existence...for now!

I'll echo the "good idea" posts...as long as folks are very clear on the purpose for the server and admins feel like they can enforce that purpose consistantly. Password protection would go a long way in making that easier.
It'd be a real downer to log in for some practice and find that folks were monopolizing vehicles/planes/etc..
Not that TTP admins have a problem being outspoken... .

If I ever get a good enough connection here at school and can actually game again.. Im having BF2 withdrawl... I can teach infantry tactics...
fire/movement
avenues of approach
cover/concealment
leap frogging
saw gunner placement
etc
If I cant get my connection up and running.. I can always post a few stickies from the books I have here in the house...

NyQuil... I need to attend some of those ground troop classes.... I have the basics down, but the staying alive part IĂ¢â‚¬â„¢m a little behind on... And I like to think of my self as death in the airĂ¢â‚¬Â¦ my chopper skills could use some practice though. I fly fine but I need to work on guiding the gunner and being gunner friendly. Which I could do on a practice server...

I have to say that even though the server aint always packed........so many noobs are vehicle hogs and i find it hard to learn anything besides playing medic and reviving the team killed because some other noobs wanted that same damn vehicle. So yea i'm all for it i just got a cool joy stick and been meaing to learn how to fly ...no offense to NHbird but i'm tired of gunning all the time. I thinks its time for me to fly.

where the heck have you been....its about time you showed up....I think you should take your hand at a pilots chair because you sure were one of the best co-pilots....let me know if you have any questions......I love to be a co-pilot so a pilot can set me up on target.....prob is there are only so many pilots that are really good and set their co-pilot up for the target....I look forward to flying with you vlade....
