BF2 practice server

practice....meaning....learning how to fly. how to shoot. how to change weapons.....how to bind your buttons. speak, type, jump......

LEARN.

should TTP host a practice server, so squads that like to fly together can do so? A practice server where pilots and co-pilots can get their TV missiles skills down?

This server is srtictly for training purposes, since we all know in a busy, ranked server, it's nrealy impossible to get a quite moment to learn how to do anything.

should TTP put up a 16-man server? Such a server would run only the largest maps, which contain all vehicle classes. e.g. gulf of oman, wake island, daqing, etc. None of the city, or small maps.

Again.....this isn't for connections....it's to help people learn how to play (since BF2 is hard at times).

It should be CLEARLY noted that this is not a CLAN PRACTICE SERVER. There is no password, there are no matches, and there is no TTP-specific clan. TTP is not a clan....it's a community. A community that wishes to provide for it's congregation.

if we're going to run a second, 16-man server... i'd rather it be a ranked city map server, or an unranked custom map and/or mod server.

that would draw connections from the primary.....and we're not big enough for that yet.

very good point you bring up Bigdog....I've been using our ranked server for this during the very very brief time that the server is not packed.....what I experince though which is totally fine is that when I and a friend or 2 go to practice, low and behold, we just about instantly have a game.....
I like your idea and for the ones that want to get better, I think this can be very usefull to them.....Good idea bigdog,,,,,,,I'm not the best airplane pilot out there,,,,what I would like to figure out is why they can outmaneuver me and soon I will figure this out and also my bombs don't exactly hit with pinpoint accuracy like I would like them too.....A practice server would enable this time for practice so when it is Game On , I will be ready to put on a good show....

Yes! Excellent idea. The good thing this offers; is the ability to access the full map, with all the targets for practice. Therefore, i believe this would help those of us that can't host our own private server to learn how to fly. Without having to worry about how it affects our ranked scores. The only reason i can think of having it ranked would be to rack up scores. As you stated this would be private. It would definitely help those of us who are not concerned with score but being able to survive an intense dogfight.
