Thread: Found it: The worst server EVER

I finally have found what IMO is the worst server ever. I was trolling for a SF server and since the TTP was empty I hopped into one with a decent population. I grab my kit and head out of the base. Promptly Booted for leaving base. I logged back in and sat around watching the rules.

1. No Killing
2. No Flag Capping
3. No Leaving your Base
4. Each round is 6 hours

Apparently this server is for you to sit around and twiddle your thumbs in a tank helo jet whatever so you can earn your awards.

Saddest part this is a ranked server

So you get a guy sitting in a tank for 400h so he can get the gold armor badge.....

Hence the 2142 gimic. "congrats you killed 5 guys without dying, here have a pin!! OMG - what's this? You killed another 5? That makes 10!!! w000t - you diserve a pin shaped like the Starfleet emblem!"

All the more reason you should stay on the TTP server, and help prime it if it's empty.

I remember back when I still had my old account before I lost my password, I was going for my Expert Assault badge all summer back in '06. I had just reached 100 hours that night and decided to join the TTP server later in the night to get the badge. It was on Kubra Dam, so I decided the best way to get it on that map while underpopulated would be to use the bomber on the USMC side. So I eventually got 40 kills and the badge, but then the server switched maps. I was very disappointed, because I thought I wasn't going to get the badge (although I probably still could have got it very easily, J-10 on Wake anyone?) Since school started I didn't play for a week, but then I noticed the badge showed in my stats, but not the plane kills. So I am sure they just get the hours on the server, get a few kills after then the server never records stats, but sends the badges to the account.

Still, it doesn't really bother me people do this. As long as those types stay busy there, and not on TTP, everything is in balance. Stats don't mean much to me at all, let those who care about stats whore a IO or padding server while we play the game properly.

BTW, the BF2142 pins aren't really a gimmick, just a great way for the more skilled players to get their unlocks faster.
