Not happy...

After my first night on PR I am pretty unhappy. Spent 10 minutes being bitched at by someone for not being on the right side of the chopper and us dying.. Did I not say when I ran over that "Hey I am new to PR. I usually play on Vanilla. Let me know what to do?"

Spent a while getting shot and trying to figure out why my screen kept turning red and I kept coughing. Then joined a few -=AONO=- guys. These guys were actually kind of fun to play with. I got a few kills and ran around.

Hopefully I can find a squad of guys who can help me figure it out. I may convert if things go a little smoother next time.

There are a lot of mean Squad Leaders on PR, but they just want whats best, like the others have said, squad up with AONO and some other TTP regs, and we will do our best to help you get through PR, without being dicks.

Of course my BF2 is broken, so you won't see me for a while.

Don't worry. That happens to everyone that's new to PR. The learning curve is steep but you'll eventually get there. Squadding up with regulars would be the best and fastest way to learn.

thr3kvya...sorry to hear that was your first experience playing PR on a TTP server. The first time I played PR was almost my last time. (thank goodness it wasn't on a TTP server)
I started the round and was having trouble getting a kit. I asked for help and got the dreaded "Didn't you read the manual?" question. When I told them I had skimmed the manual and not actually studied it, I got called a Noob and was ignored the rest of the round. PR rounds are long as hell! Total bullshit!
But keep playing PR, it is a nice change of pace and really satisfies my teamplay hunger. If you play PR and see me on the PR server, feel free to join my squad. I am not the most proficient player, but you won't ever hear me berate someone because they are new.

thr3kvya - I feel you. I too have had my ass chewed for what I felt was a small infraction of a noob.

Keep at it, keep owning up to your noobness (as I do) and you will find that special squad leader to take you under his wing and show you whats up with patience. There are a lot of good guys out there.

There are also a lot of whining bitches. Just take your licks and it will get better.

There's always a squad like that at least once a day, I hate it when I'm faced with an attitude player, just dust yourself off and keep on playing. The more realism, the more serious it tends to become. Project Reality is kick ass with an awesome squad, and the best squads have been on this server, hands down!

Well bro, I just spent 4 days tracking down a system issue on my PC. Got it loaded back up yesterday and have been installing things. I'm busy downloading PR tonight, so that I can game some tomorrow evening {after work}. Tell me what time you'd like a go, I'll round up Manno, Clint, Scott, & a few others and we can get together. I'll be like you, learning the new system of the changes for the latest version but I know the game very well and have been teaching others since we started hosting the server. I honestly don't feel like there is anyone else as laid back and easy going for a first timer in PR as I am. Squad with me or anyone I've helped learn the game and you will find a squad leader that isn't a dickhead.

Here is a good starting list of good or great squad leaders to squad up with in PR:

Amador, Elkhartadam, Draco, 4Manno, Saltspring, Bryn, SpecOpsScott, Vlade, TexDirect, Nuckle, Chosen, JBMC, Asianator, Hobbes, Roadhog, Palerider. I'm positive there are others but these are the ones I know by heart. We've put a lot of time together in game. We don't all manage a squad the same, but nearly every one of them has squaded up with me and they know how I treat other players. You can't go wrong squading up with one of them. Failing that, look for well spoken regulars in the PR forum and go from there. I'd like to remember more of them, but alas I usually spend more time squad leading than I do being a member in a squad so some of these newer guys maybe alright and I just don't know it. My apologies if I left anyone out that feels they should be on the list.
