Commander voice comms
A couple of days ago I was on the TTP server during a relatively quiet period (3 or 4 people playing) and thought I'd brush up on my commanding skills. I realized I've never gotten the hang of communicating to squad leaders, mostly because I've never seen a good description of how the voice comms work in the commander screen.
Can anyone enlighten me? Mainly, I'm trying to figure out if you can talk with all squad leaders simultaneously...

RE: Commander voice comms
i believe there is a way to talk with select squads/channels, but i jsut assume its best and easiest to just voice over all and jsut use squad names/numbers (squad alpha/1 defend the alleyway; squad bravo/2 attack the tv, etc). plus that way if someone is in the vicinity, they can assist

RE: Commander voice comms
Absolutely!
If you have the basic configuration still in place (default as in you haven't changed them to be personalized), when you are the Commander, press the "V" key on your keyboard and you will be communicating with all squad leaders.
If you are a squad leader or member, you can press the "B" key to communicate with the squad and the leader can use the "V" key to communicate back to the Commander.
These come in handy to say the least.
Another good way to get control information is in the "BFHQ" tab in the main menu (next to "Multiplayer"). Click that, then "Options" then choose the "Controls" then the ones you want to see more about such as "Common Controls".
Hope this helps!

RE: Re: RE: Commander voice comms
Theres no button that allows you to talk to the squads individually, but you can "mute" individual squads from hearing your orders via the "V" button. The thing is, you have to mute all squads except the one you are trying to communciate with, so it can be a bit cumbersome. To mute a squad, simply left click over the speaker icon pertaining to that squad. It'll put an "X" over it. To unmute, left click again.
Personally, I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't want all squads to know what each other are doing (except maybe to talk smack about someone, and that doesn't sound very team oriented.)

RE: Re: RE: Commander voice comms
The only reason is because I had a situation where someone had asked me for a vehicle drop. When I asked where everyone but one squad asked what the heck I was talking about and I didn't know which one. Basically so I can respond to each person when they are unable to get to their map because of fighting.

RE: Re: RE: Commander voice comms
my bad dood.
ops: as already stated, the default "commander" voicecomm button is "V"...i misread and i thought you were asking if there was a way talk to each individual squad leader
ops: squad leaders are the only ones that have to worry about two different comm buttons (B for the squad members only, V for the commander only)...as such, only squad members can use B to talk to squadmates and the commander can only use V to talk to jsut squad leaders. at this point im only reiterating what others have already said, so i shall shush now...
ops: :P
