I have a question

When someone gets on a server and decides that they want to try and pad their stats by shooting someone and healing them, they will get deducted points. I was on a server the other night and noticed it. If I shot my own teammate I got like -2 points everytime I did it. There are some servers that do that and some that dont. There was a post by BFTrauma where a guy proceeded to hurt him and then heal him. Does the TTP server punish automatically when someone shoots one of their teammates on purpose? I just wanted to know if it did or not because if it doesnt, that gives people a free shot at statpadding.

The key here Creak, is that you were shooting your own teammate. It's called friendly fire. You can never stat pad that way.

And FYI, we don't tolerate stat padding here, so if you do it, stop. If you don't do it, don't start. And if you have done it, repent.

The points are deducted automatically, the punish vs. no-punish is just so you can kick them again if they did wrong (intentionally).

On this note, let me say LOUD AND CLEAR for everyone to hear.

If you were killed by accident or through the fault of your own, DON'T PUNISH. All too often I see people punish for unintentional Team Kills. Before you vote to punish, think about this... Did you do anything to cause your own demise and did the person that killed me intend to do so.

If you run out in front of a moving vehicle and get killed don't punish the driver!!!!
If you get blown up from a jets bombing run in a hot zoneÃ¢â‚¬Â¦donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t punish the pilot!!!!
If your helo pilot accidently runs the helo into a building don't punish the pilot...
You run in or drive into a hot zone where your squad members are firing and get your butt shot or blown up....DON'T punish.

These are just some of the examples of accidental teamkills. I have been punished and seen squad members punished for all the above and more. Have some common sense and think before you hit the "Page Down" button on your keyboard.

I don't punish unless I thought the teamkill was done out of shear ignorance or stupidity. If a chopper is putting down cover at a flag and I get killed, no punish from me. Punishments only come when they had time to stop their fire. If someone comes around a corner and gets trigger happy on accident, no punish.

My theory is that for most cases eating 4 points for an accident is punishment enough.

CReaka0035: The only way to stat pad like you are thinking is to have members from both teams team up. You would need a medic and another soldier on both sides to stat pad. I think you get the idea.

In the case with that ingnorant bastard doing team damage on me while I was commanding, I believe he was simply trying to get me to resign so he could command. Unfortunately he was such an asshole that I think he didn't score many if any points and just decided to bug me the whole game. I ignored him after I got a few screenshots and we did win.
