I want my parachute key to be my easiest button to find, so I use the Num Pad 'ENTER'. Since I don't need my mouse while parachuting it has worked wonders until someone forgets to pack my chute correctly and it fails to open.

You can also make BF2 behave like 2142 and double-bind space to both jump and parachute by manually editing the controls.con file (which is also required if you want to use Tab for something other than the scoreboard; 2142 is much more lenient than 2 on key usage).

Hmm that is interesting to know - thank you.

Hey man, I think I remember you from the TTP 2142 server, squad leading a few times(I used the name reject Bunny_Rabbit). Just remember, artillary is MUCH more lethal, the air power is a lot scarier, and going prone is much more useful. Look forward to seeing you on the server, you should be good to go from your BF2142 experience.

I wouldn't say arty in BF2 is more lethal, it's just different. The damage is much more scattered than 2142. In 2142, you can take out pretty much anything exactly where you place it. In BF2... it's a much more generalized area where it lands.

Well, I think we will agree, the arty in BF2 is way more anti infantry, but not effective against armor, and the arty in BF2142 is much more useful on armor than infantry, but still a good threat to both.

Yeah, but I've found the stray arty shot takes out a fully healthy tank in BF2 more frequently than I remember it did back in the day when I played more regularly.
